Admiring book covers and bookmarks, shared by you!

Welcome to INSIDE AND OUT. This feature includes two of my absolute favorite book-related things: bookmarks (inside) and book covers (out)! I’ve invited guest posters to share their favorite book covers and bookmarks here on the second and fourth Mondays of each month. Sign-ups are always open (see bottom of post)! Check out past posts here.

Tell me a little about yourself: I’m seventeen years old and a senior in high school. When I’m not reading books, I can usually be found either playing Xbox or watching Netflix. It’s quite a life I lead, as you can tell.

Talk about your blog (what you blog about/kinds of books, features, etc.):  I blog mainly about young adult books of all genres, though sometimes there’s children’s or adult books too. As long as it’s intriguing, I’m bound to read it and review it! I also do interviews on my blog and occasionally recommend my favorite music.

Favorite genre:  Science fiction!

Three books you recommend most often and why:

  • The Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins: I recommend this one so much because it’s what got me into the dystopian genre. Plus there’s still some people who haven’t read it!
  • Gated by Amy Christine Parker: I found this book to be so entirely creepy and now that I think about it, it kind of connects with the Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt. If you like that show, check out Gated!
  • The Wolves of Mercy Falls series by Maggie Stiefvater: I fell in love with all the characters in this series and it’s just so magical. It’s also a lovely winter read.

Anything else to share? Personal plug for something coming up? I have nothing to share except for the fact I’ve been working hard to apply to colleges lately!

What book do we have here?  Illuminae by Amie Kaufman

Have you read it yet? If so, how was it?  I’ve not read it yet, though I’m hoping to read it very soon because I’ve heard such good things about it!

What makes this cover a favorite? I love the brightness of the orange and I also adore how there are see-through pieces that show the actual hardcover.

What kind/style of covers do you usually pine over (script fonts, bright colors, realistic, etc.)?  I’m a huge fan of bright colors. The bright colors don’t even have to relate to the book in any way. If there’s bright colors, I’m sold.

the bookmark2

What bookmark did you chose? I chose a bookmark featuring a quote from Dating Down.

What makes this one special to you? This one is special to me because it came with some signed swag from the author of Dating Down, which was a lovely book.

Where’s it from? This bookmark is from a giveaway that I won a while back.

What kind of bookmarks do you prefer (paper, magnetic, quotes, etc.)?  I love homemade bookmarks, especially the ones you can buy from Etsy.

Thanks so much for joining Inside & Out, Krystianna! That bookmark is adorable; I’ll have to check the book out.

Join in the fun!

Sign-ups are temporarily CLOSED. I want to work through the remaining people who have already signed up and then take a bit of a hiatus towards the middle of 2016. Hope you understand! Stay tuned for when sign-ups re-open for later next year.
