Inside & Out #24: Stefani from Caught Read Handed

Admiring book covers and bookmarks, shared by you! Welcome to INSIDE AND OUT. This feature includes two of my absolute favorite book-related things: bookmarks (inside) and book covers (out)! I’ve invited guest posters to share their favorite book covers and bookmarks here on the second Monday of each month. Sign-ups are always open (see bottom of post)! Check out past posts here. Stefani from Caught Read Handed Twitter: @StefaniSloma| Instagram: @stefanisloma Tell me a little about yourself: Hi! My name is Stefani, and I’ve been blogging for 2 years over at Caught Read Handed. I’m a Young Adult Librarian in Mississippi, a literary agency intern, a wanderer, and a nerd. When I’ve not got my nose buried in a book, I can usually be found on the road traveling to a concert, a book event, or a place I’ve never been. Talk about your blog (what you blog about/kinds of books, features, etc.):  My blog was created to talk to other people about our mutual love of books and reading. I mostly read young adult books (but also MG and picture books sometimes; as a librarian, I have to and I love it!), so my blog and its reviews really reflects this. I also talk about book to movie adaptations, the music I’ve been listening to, the road trips I go on and the book festivals I attend. My blog is me, so it’s a little bit of everything. Favorite genre: Definitely fantasy, but I’ve also gotten super into contemporary – particularly, diverse contemporary – […]

I have been blogging for a year and it has been such an amazing experience. I love designing, re-organizing my bookshelves and binge watching Netflix (Grey’s Anatomy, Ghost Whisperer and One Tree Hill are my favorites)! Talk about your blog (what you blog about/kinds of books, features, etc.):  I co-blog with my best friend whom I have never met (boo), Christy. She is amazing and we blog about our love for books. We love to discuss so whether it’s a review or a random discussion post it’ll be about books! We don’t have features right now, but 2016 will hold some amazing new things. Favorite genre:  Contemporary Romance, but I’m really loving Fantasy. Three books you recommend most often and why: The Fault in Our Stars by John Green – this book was gifted to me from my boyfriend and it is was brought me back into the reading world. Not only that, but it made me want to start blogging so it holds something true […]

Check out past posts here. Monica from Tomes Project Twitter: @tomesproject| Instagram: @tomesproject| Goodreads Tell me a little about yourself: I am a freshman in college who drinks way too much coffee and buys way too many books (something I am trying to remedy). I am also an avid believer in libraries (literally it’s free books!) and spending too much time watching book videos (+ Zoella) on YouTube. Thirty second dance parties and Grey’s Anatomy have been essential to my mental health throughout the years, and I am learning to not be ashamed that I love Doctor Who. I think post-it notes and to-do lists are the two things that have saved me the most stress in my life. Current obsession in life: Halsey. Talk about your blog (what you blog about/kinds of books, features, etc.):  I mostly blog about YA books, but I also try and dip my toes into adult fiction–something I have been doing a lot more as of recent–and middle grade. Since I am still a tiny little blogger, I don’t do reviews for publishers, but reviews are some of my favorite posts to write out! I try and make my reviews a little different […]

When I’m not reading books, I can usually be found either playing Xbox or watching Netflix. It’s quite a life I lead, as you can tell. Talk about your blog (what you blog about/kinds of books, features, etc.):  I blog mainly about young adult books of all genres, though sometimes there’s children’s or adult books too. As long as it’s intriguing, I’m bound to read it and review it! I also do interviews on my blog and occasionally recommend my favorite music. Favorite genre:  Science fiction! Three books you recommend most often and why: The Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins: I recommend this one so much because it’s what got me into the dystopian genre. Plus there’s still some people who haven’t read it! Gated by Amy Christine Parker: I found this book to be so entirely creepy and now that I think about it, it kind of connects with the Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt. If you like that show, check out Gated! The Wolves of Mercy […]

I am an avid reader, always have been. I am married to a non-reader and I’m a mother of one – a 5.5 year old boy who loves books and is just learning how to read. I work full time and squeeze in reading pretty much every spare second I have. I started my blog in May. Talk about your blog (what you blog about/kinds of books, features, etc.):  I blog about life, love, and books. I review YA and adult fiction – mostly contemporary. I also review some children’s books. I talk about my family and occasionally share recipes. I try to cover all of my interests, but it’s mostly books. In October I started a weekly series, Fiction Friday, where I share creative writing. I’m working on improving my descriptive prose and enforcing a deadline on myself is helping me make time for this type of writing in addition to traditional blogging. Favorite genre: YA Fiction is definitely my favorite. I especially love series: The Lunar Chronicles, The Hunger Games, […]

Thanks to Lauren for having me today. I’m a blogger, reader, and indie author. I love talking about books (as if that isn’t glaringly obvious), but I also enjoy working out, swimming, movie nights with friends, and spending as much time as I can with my girlfriend. (We’re in a long-distance relationship, so the time we get together is awesome.) Talk about your blog (what you blog about/kinds of books, features, etc.): I blog at Books and Whimsy and also at The Authorteers (theauthorteers.blogspot.com) about writing and what I’m reading. I include personal posts from time to time at Books and Whimsy! I try to focus on reviewing as many books with marginalized characters from marginalized/diverse authors as I can, with a focus on LGBTQIA+ literature. I love YA, NA, and adult contemporary romance. Favorite genre: Romance! Give me a romance of any kind and I’m super happy. A very close second is fantasy. It’s the first genre I really fell in love with outside of YA contemporary books, so it […]

Laura from Scribbles & Wanderlust Twitter: @LECrockett| Instagram: @lauraecrock| Goodreads Tell me a little about yourself: I’m a literary agent and bookseller by day, and blogger by night. Favorite genre: All genres within Young Adult, though I also read and review whimsical Middle Grade and Adult historical fiction. I realize I mentioned categories more so than genres, but I’m across the board! Shannon from It Starts at Midnight Twitter: @ShannonMiz| Instagram: @shannonmiz| Goodreads Tell me a little about yourself: ::Goes to visit past posts to see what kind of stuff other people mention:: Well. Those people didn’t help that much. Let’s see. I have two small humans. I am obsessed with The Hunger Games (this is common knowledge, I think?). I love iced coffee, swimming, and travel. I do 99% of my reading and blogging when normal people would sleep. Talk about your blog (what you blog about/kinds of books, features, etc.):  I blog about… bookish things. And sometimes non bookish things, but there’s usually a tie in somewhere. Basically, I do reviews, discussions, Top Ten Tuesdays because lists are nice and also I like to cheat on them, and whatever else strikes my fancy. I love gifs. I love pictures. I love being ridiculous, so it’s rare to find too much seriousness in any one post. Holly @ The Fox’s Hideaway and I do a feature called “Snark From the Ark” where we chat about The 100 episodes. We’ll be back in January, as will The 100. I host the 2015 Discussion Challenge with Nicole […]

In addition to all the books, I love travel and binge watching shows on Netflix. Talk about your blog (what you blog about/kinds of books, features, etc.):  I mostly blog about Young Adult books, though I read a lot of Adult stuff and Classics too.
