TTTimageTen Books that Have Been on Your Shelf/TBR from
Before Blogging that You STILL Haven’t Read Yet

Top Ten Tuesdays are hosted by The Broke and the Bookish, where we make lists of our top ten books (or something else!) based on that week’s prompt. The topics are provided ahead of time and can be found here. Book links bring you to Goodreads or my review.

This week’s TTT is the top ten books that you’ve had on your TBR (physical or digital!) from your pre-blogging days that you still haven’t read. I definitely wanted to examine the books on my physical shelves – especially because I’m not doing so great at reading from my personal collection – and hopefully it pushes me to get going on them. All of these books were published and acquired by me in 2014 or earlier.

2014 earlier books tbrAngus, Thongs, and Full-Frontal Snogging by Louise Rennison • This is definitely one of those pivotal growing-up series that many people have read. I bought it back in the day when they did the cover redesign and just never got arond to reading it for some reason. I’ve heard it’s hilarious though.

I’ve Got Your Number by Sophie Kinsella • I went through a big Kinsella phase right before I started blogging and I want to get back into her backlist. I read the Shopaholic books (maybe the first three or so) back in the day and really enjoyed them too. This one seems great.

Cinderella Ate My Daughter by Peggy Orenstein • This book was purchased back at the same time I got Full Frontal Feminism because I missed my Women’s Studies classes in college. I haven’t read it yet because it takes a lot of energy for me to read nonfiction, even if the topic interests me.

Wish by Alexandra Bullen • This was a super random purchase at B&N when it was on a sale rack, I think. In my pre-blogging days of not really looking at Goodreads when in the store, I decided to take a risk 😉  I can see by looking at the GR now that some bloggers did read it and had some mixed feelings, but I still love the idea of the book. Anything with wishes is perfect for me.

How to Teach Filthy Rich Girls by Zoey Dean • This author used to be one of my favorites and helped inspire my Nostalgia Project when I read one of her backlist titles recently. I loved her A-LIST series. I’ve owned this forever and just never sat down to read it for some reason.

Oh. My. Gods. by Tera Lyn Childs • People who read this (aka bloggers I trust) actually seemed to enjoy it, but I haven’t ever seen it come up when people talk about backlist titles they liked. The concept of this one sounds great and reminds me of another series I really enjoyed with mythology.

Lots of books to read and series to finish by Kate Brian • Most people know I love Kate Brian/Kieran Scott because I talk about her all the time on here. There are multiple series of hers that I need to finish and currently own. I keep putting it off because it’s like my child/YA-hood will be over officially. This includes finishing the Private series, Privilege series, and reading Megan Meade’s Guide to the McGowan Boys.

  1. YES! So many books on here that I need to get to too. I liked ANGUS, THONGS AND PERFECT SNOGGING, but I didn’t read far into the series. I also really liked OH. MY. GODS. but again, I didn’t continue on with the series. I don’t know, but there are so many books that I’ve unfortunately lost interest in reading from my pre-blogging days, which makes me really sad. But this TTT is totally making me want to pick up a book that I have been meaning to read for a while! Great list and happy reading 😀

  2. Angus, Thongs & Snogging!! I grew up reading those books and they were so much fun. The MC is a complete riot and her friends were awesome too. You should definitely pick that one up. I liked I’ve Got Your Number. It’s one of my favorites by her.
The Kate Brian series has been on my TBR as well for a while. I need to get to those sometime in the future.

  3. I liked the Sophie Kinsella book on your list. That was a good one. I’ve been blogging for almost ten years. I can’t even remember what came out back then. Ha!

  4. Hahaha I haven’t heard of most of these books, but I know the Privilege series was pretty popular, I think? These are actually the types/genre of books I would never read (sorry! Hahaha) but one of my friends really liked them, so I saw them on her shelf a lot!

  5. At one point I did have Sophie’s ‘Number’ on my bookshelf, but I may have put it in a box to “get rid of” because I NEVER read it. I still have ‘Wish’ on my bookshelf. 🙂
