BL headerThe Bookmark Lit Bulletin was created to wrap up each month and prepare for the next. I share my book haul, books I read and reviewed, posts I shared, challenge updates, and more from the previous month. I also let you know what may be coming up on the blog in the coming month. You can read past bulletins here. I recently split out my personal posts into the Lauren Lately feature, so this is a bit shorter!

looking backreading lifeMy goal was to at least make it to ten books this month and I really didn’t care how I did it. I started reading two books toward the end of the month that didn’t fully grab my attention and/or were too long, so I kept picking up quick and short contemporaries in between to meet my goal. Oh well! I’m hoping for some more reading soon because I want to hit the beach and parks and such. Hope you guys had a nice month of reading! Mine was so weird haha. Also, worth mentioning that I read five 4-star books in a row and it made me uncomfortable ?

Best Covers for Books I Didn’t Like | I feel like this post has been sitting in my drafts for awhile, and clearly August will be the month where I post all of those. I hate when books with gorgeous covers end up disappointing me. This post is basically an appreciation post for the cute covers with not-the-best books inside.

Wedding & Event Planning Books | I love books involving event/wedding planning, so I pulled some together! I used to want to be an event planner with a friend from high school, so I always gravitate toward those storylines. I highlight some I recently read plus some on my TBR.

Book Tags | I often save book tags to drafts in order to fill them out on a rainy day. I did that twice last month! So, I have a few more in there I plan to pull out at some point. I don’t have a lot planned for August yet, so I’ll probably also add in some memes and other features.

Weird Reading Habits: Author Binges | I talk about how my reading habits tend to be weird with my favorite authors. I often save their books for a rainy day so I don’t run out. I also don’t binge read a bunch of books by one author unless they’re in the same series.

Cozy Small Town Companion Series | I loveeee companion series. Sometimes I prefer them to actual series, I think. I’ve been reallllly into the cozy small town companion series though, especially adult fiction. I’m sharing some of my favorites and why I love them, as well as the books on my TBR.

How was your July?
Anything good planned for August?

  1. Another great wrap up. 12 books in a month is great progress. I usually read 5 or 6. I think I only read 3 in July just because I finished Clockwork Princess and that was a long book, but it was good.

  2. A few thoughts here:
-Are you planning on rereading Gossip Girl too? I am hoping to get around to the It Girl sometime after the A List.
-You would make a PHENOMENAL event planner!!
    – I am SO READY for your cozy small town companions series. Honestly I have been in this weird mood lately where all I want to do is reread books and so I’m looking for some new additions to freshen up my TBR!
