When I saw the Capsule Library posts by some of my favorite bloggers AND they turned it into a “tag” of sorts, I knew I had to hop in on it. It’s even better that Alexa tagged me to participate 😉 Header image is credited to them and their post links are up there too.

You’re allowed to have 10 total pieces in your library, just like a capsule wardrobe. (You can also choose an actual clothing item and accessory for each of the items below too!) Here’s what you get:

  • The Clothes: 5-7 authors (any/all of their books would be in library)
  • The Accessories: 3-5 individual books (and series couldn’t be grouped into one)

The Clothes

Favorite authors and clothing pieces

Old Navy Darker Wash Rockstar Skinny Jeans | Taylor Jenkins Reid

My favorite jeans are sort of a mid-dark wash from Old Navy and I pretty much only wear skinny jeans. I know they’re going to be tight when I put them on, but I look great. TJR’s books are often really hard to read because she brings up so many uncomfortable realities about life and love. They make me cry every time… just like my skinny jeans when I’ve eaten too much 😉 But they’re too much of a staple to ever NOT have in my wardrobe… or library.

Black Cotton/Jersey Swing Dress | Kasie West

One of my favorite things to do is just throw on a dress and head out the door. It’s the easiest thing to wear AND you look like you put effort in. I have a lot of favorite dresses, but the versatility of my black swing jersey dress is like no other. I wear it with patterned leggings, by itself, or with a cardigan. I love all of Kasie West’s books and can always count on them to make me feel good and fluffy, just like my favorite dress.

Flowy Floral Print Shirt | Jenny Han

My favorite print is easily floral print and I own WAY too many shirts. I’d need to add one into my capsule wardrobe for a pop of something different. Jenny Han’s books are some of my favorites and they’re always different. I love the SUMMER trilogy and, of course, TATBILB. I could see myself revisiting them for sure.

Luke Kuechly Carolina Panthers Jersey | Sara Shepard

Much like the Panthers, Sara Shepard’s books aren’t always perfect. A lot of them are too similar to each other or feature the same tropes. I’ve talked before about why her books are important to me and how many slumps they’ve broken me out of, so I need her books in my library for sure. I absolutely need something Panthers-related to wear during games too. That’s a no-brainer.

Black LuLaRoe Leggings | Sarah Dessen

Reading a Dessen book is like coming home and putting your favorite leggings on. I love her writing, character development, and settings. I have to pair her up with my favorite black Lula leggings for sure. I’d definitely need ALL of her books in my library because I could reread them forever, plus they’re the reason I got into YA books when I was younger. She is queen.

Oversized V-Neck Comfy Sweater | Emery Lord

I love that Emery Lord is all about self-care and mental health. I think a big, cozy sweater is appropriate here. Like Dessen, her books feel like coming home and being comfortable. I’ve loved nearly all of her stories and hope that continues with anything else she comes out with.

The Accessories

Favorite individual books and accessories

Claire Scrunch Flat {Payless} | Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire

Maybe this doesn’t make a lot of sense, because I can’t feature the whole series here, but I love this book so much. It’s long and interesting and makes me happy/sad. To be honest, I can’t imagine NOT having the entire HARRY POTTER series in my library, but I would be just as happy rereading via audio for the rest of my life instead 😉 Cheating a little here. It goes without saying that these books are comfortable and always there – just like my all-time favorite black flats. Easily the most comfortable shoes I’ve ever worn.

Kate Spade New York Gold Coast Maryanne | A Great and Terrible Beauty

Again, I wish I could have the whole series here. And yet again, I’d cheat by rereading via audio anyways. I love this series and hope it’ll hold up every time I reread. When I think of historical fiction fantasy blends, AGATB is the first one that comes to mind. I keep coming back to it and thought about rereading it for years before I finally did. My all-time favorite purse that I keep coming back to use again is the Kate Spade Maryanne. I just love how big and gorgeous it is (same as this series!).

White and Tan Sandals | Nowhere But Home

To be honest I can’t think of a clever shoe and book comparison here, except for the fact that the warm Texas setting in NOWHERE BUT HOME would match nicely with some sandals. As you can see, most of my clothing and accessories are black, but I love having a pair of white sandals to wear whenever too. I need to reread this book ASAP because I loved it so much.

Long Pearl & Silver Necklace | Anna and the French Kiss

I always wear long necklaces and one of my favorites is a silver and pearl multi-strand. I couldn’t find a good one for the image, so just picture that instead. It’s my go-to piece… just like ANNA is my go-to contemporary favorite. I love the story and characters so much. The fluff is too good to ignore. I’d have all the companions in my library if I could, but this one can represent them all the best.

  1. This was such a fun idea! I loved all of your picks. I have been considering buying lularoe leggings but have never been able to force myself to make the jump but comparing them to coming home with a book that makes you comfortable is such a good feeling I definitely want to buy!
