wed wrapup

I don’t like to do too many weekly memes on the blog and usually stick to TTT, but I thought it would be fun to occasionally post Wednesday memes I’m interested in. It won’t be weekly, but it’ll be fun to recap the previous week or so and talk about what books I have on the docket. It will be a combination of WWW Wednesdays and Waiting on Wednesdays (more details below!), as well as anything else I’d like to share.

waiting on wedWaiting on…Wednesday is hosted by Breaking the Spine and
asks upcoming releases that we’re eagerly anticipating.

I’m currently waiting impatiently for…

A Vow So Bold and Deadly (Cursebreakers, #3)

A Vow So Bold and Deadly by Brigid Kemmerer

Release Date: January 12th 2021

Brigid Kemmerer’s New York Times bestselling Cursebreaker series continues with two kingdoms on the brink of collapse, old enemies resurfacing, and friends becoming foes.

Emberfall is torn between those who believe Rhen is the rightful prince and those who are eager to begin a new era under the true heir, Grey. Grey has agreed to wait two months before attacking Rhen, and in that time, Rhen has sought the assistance of a spy despite Harper’s doubts.

Meanwhile, Lia Mara struggles to rule Syhl Shallow with a gentler hand than her mother. But some of her subjects aren’t happy that Lia Mara has an enchanted prince and magical scraver by her side. As Grey’s deadline draws nearer, Lia Mara is forced to question whether or not she can remain allied to his cause.

This compulsively readable saga continues as two kingdoms come closer to conflict—and an old enemy resurfaces who could destroy them all.

I’ve been really enjoying this series so far, so it’s a no brainer that the next book will be high on my list! I don’t remember if this is supposed to be the final book but it keeps saying it “continues” the series, not ends. So we’ll see!

www wedWWW Wednesday is hosted by Taking on a World of Words and asks the questions below.

 What are you currently reading?

Love Your Life by Sophie Kinsella – egalley

I always request the newest Kinsella and think I’ll read her books no matter what. She’s had a few stinkers and a few amazing books over the past handful of years, so I know she can be hit or miss for me, but her books are always so addicting and help my slumps! Excited to get further into this one.

What did you recently finish reading?

Today Tonight Tomorrow by Rachel Lynn Solomon
You Have a Match by Emma Lord
Summer at Lake Haven by RaeAnne Thayne

I cannot emphasize enough how utterly perfect TODAY TONIGHT TOMORROW was! I used a random number generator to determine my next read and it was so, so wonderful for selecting this one for me. I’ve had the egalley for a while and had put it off for no reason. I adored it. So swoony and a new favorite! YOU HAVE A MATCH was a wonderful sophomore novel for Emma Lord too. I really enjoyed the summer camp setting and the intricacies she wove together so well for the characters. And finally, I finished SUMMER AT LAKE HAVEN beforehand – the 11th book in the Haven Point series. Not a favorite, a little bland, but not terrible by any means.

What do you think you’ll read next?

Majesty (American Royals, #2) Kiss My Cupcake Sex and Vanity

Majesty by Katharine McGee
Kiss My Cupcake by Helena Hunting
Sex and Vanity by Kevin Kwan

I have a few random options coming up, probably. I bought all three of these since their release. MAJESTY is the second installment in the super enjoyable (so far) American Royals books. KISS MY CUPCAKE is another rom-com from Hunting that I’m pumped for. SEX AND VANITY is Kwan’s first (I think) foray outside of the Crazy Rich Asians series.
