Woof, the end of the month totally snuck up on me! I know it had to do with Thanksgiving being so late, but for some reason I was convinced that Monday was the first instead of Sunday. I therefore ended up finishing less books in November than expected. I had hoped to squeeze in two more but my reading was weird throughout the month. Oh well! On to a lot of Christmas books in December!      All of the books from this month: Check out my 2019 challenge sign-up post for more details, goals, etc.! I talked about my weird reading schedule (basically structured every book like a readalong where I had a set start date and end date with page goals) for October and that really helped me. I don’t think I’ll do it all the time but just for a few months when I’m feeling like I need the motivation. This will probably be true for November, TBH. Anyways, I did a good job reading in October (including my focus on “heavier” fall books, aka non-contemporaries).      All of the books from this month: Check out my 2019 challenge sign-up post for more details, goals, etc.! I was sure keep up the general butt-ness of my reading life in September. I do *know* that this happens in September because I typically spend more time out and about, with friends and family, and taking trips to celebrate all the good things September brings for me. Not mad about it! Because of Contemporary-a-thon though, I WAS able to make a good push right at the end of the month to ensure I didn’t totally blow it. I technically only finished one book during the readathon, but I started two others and actually finished them both the day after the readathon, aka the last day of the month!      All of the books from this month: Check out my 2019 challenge sign-up post for more details, goals, etc.! Lol if July was impressive as hell (14 books, 10 of which were completed by the midpoint of the month), August was a big ol’ fail for ya girl. I also didn’t enjoy the VAST majority of August’s books. I should have known I wouldn’t be able to read quite as much based on some my plans, but again, I still feel out of sorts? I’m not feeling quite like myself and don’t have a lot of interest in reading, blogging, being on the internet… I can’t shake it. I’m getting better and back into the swing of things now that my favorite month is here! I also think I’m a little burnt out on book blogging specifically, so my second blog I’ve been thinking about may get going by the end of the year. We’ll see! This blog won’t go anywhere though <3      All of the books from this month: Check out my 2019 challenge sign-up post for more details, goals, etc.! I have to be completely transparent with you guys. I am still straight-up reeling from the loss of Grace last week. I can’t get her off my mind. I can’t focus on much of anything, especially blogging or reading. It’s like… how can I keep doing these things when she can’t? This is ridiculous because I’m SURE she would NEVER want anyone/me to feel that way. She was just the most positive person. The brightest light in our community and in our comment sections. She stayed so strong and fought through the very, very end. I know she did. I want to also be completely honest despite sounding like I’m trying to make this about ME. I was the person who broke the news to everyone in the community because I had just become Facebook friends with her the week prior. I followed her journey there for not nearly long enough before she was taken. My mentions on Twitter were absolutely flooded with grief, messages about her kindness, and a lot of love. Which was simultaneously wonderful, because Grace was […]

I feel like I start every post like “woah what a weird reading month!” but I have to say… June genuinely was a bizarre reading month. I had one book leftover from mid-May that I FINALLY finished in mid-June, plus another book that took me around three weeks to read throughout the month. I finished a bunch of books in a row after not finishing any for like a week. I finished books every day between 6/16 though 6/19 (even finishing two books on the 19th). So yeah, I was either reading nothing, slogging through something forever, or finishing a million books in rapid succession. I ALSO signed up for Summerathon on a whim this past week so it motivated me to polish off a handful of summery books in a row as well.      All of the books from this month:   Check out my 2019 challenge sign-up post for more details, goals, etc.! Like I said about April, May was also bound to be a shitty reading month. I had my friend’s wedding the second weekend of the month, where I didn’t read the whole 3-4 days of festivities, and a bunch of other weekend plans to account for. Luckily Bout of Books happened the day after the wedding, which put my butt in gear to get back on track with reading and make up for lost time! I ended up reading two graphic novels for one of my challenges, which helped keep me in the normal range of 9ish books read.      All of the books from this month: Check out my 2019 challenge sign-up post for more details, goals, etc.! I knew April was going to be a garbage reading month, as evidenced by the fact that it took me the entire first half of the month to read multiple books. I finally got back into the groove once the bachelorette trip was over mid-month! I made a little version of ARC April for myself to focus on only reading review copies and I did such a good job of keeping that promise. I still managed to complete 9 books (yes, two were novellas, leave me alone) and DNFed another.      All of the books from this month:     Check out my 2019 challenge sign-up post for more details, goals, etc.! I’m happy I increased my reading numbers, meaning I’m super ahead on my Goodreads challenge! I read SO many books in March. The middle portion of this year will be challenging for reading, with a decent amount of trips planned and weddings to attend between April and August. In any case, it was a good reading month where I kept up some momentum and continued to love my bullet journal! Related not-as-bookish sidenote: I asked you guys where you want to see wrap-ups for my bujo pages (if you did at all) and there was even split between “yes make a separate post” and “yes wherever you want to post it.” I’ve decided to do a bi-monthly bujo wrap-up post!      All of the books from this month: Check out my 2019 challenge sign-up post for more details, goals, etc.! February was a bit of a whirlwind in my personal life and my reading life was somewhat weirdly affected. I did still manage to get a lot of reading done despite that (and also despite reading one book for the entire month basically). I have to count this as a success!
