I rarely buy physical books and there are SO few that I own multiple copies of. I don’t even have special editions of books, really. The idea that I would have books that no one is allowed to touch is weird for me, so I made my own spin on this topic – here are the books with some of my all-time favorite covers that better not ever change. No one is allowed to redesign these, okay??? To All the Boys I’ve Loved Before trilogy by Jenny Han | I know these may get some redesigns because of the movies, which isn’t as bad, but I LOVE these covers so incredibly much. I’m not quite as territorial as I used to be, wanting to keep the magic of a certain book or author all to myself. It’s so exciting because I genuinely feel like adaptations as a whole are getting even better and truer to their written counterpart. A recent TTT featured a few books I read specifically BECAUSE they were getting the adaptation treatment, so it even works out for motivating me to read certain things. I think it makes the reading experience a lot more fulfilling when there’s just one tiny thing that connects you with someone – either what they’re going through, their relationship with their families, their inside jokes with their friends, their fashion sense… I don’t have to fully relate to character experiences to relate to the characters themselves and that can make things even more interesting. I honestly can’t think of a lot of outrageous things I’ve done for my love of books, so I’ll spin this topic a little bit. The topic for this week is an audio-related freebie. I probably spend more of my week listening to podcasts than I do listening to audiobooks, but I’ve done a good job balancing them lately. The first few days of the week will usually involve podcast episodes (since I have some scheduled to come out each weekend and in the early part of the work week) and the rest of the week will be more audiobook-focused. I thought I would highlight some very broad categories of audio-related favorites, including narrators, services, and books themselves for this freebie topic!
