I wasn’t sure if I’d be able to do this one but I decided it seemed fun once I came up with my first example 😉 Don’t come at me if some of these shows and movies are already books – clearly I didn’t research before this post and went off vibes! haha. Kaleidoscope I really enjoyed this show on Netflix when it came out. It involves a big heist and apparently each of the episodes (named after a color) can be watched in any order, as long as you watch one specific episode last. Heist books are really fun and adding in some kind of “choose your own adventure” element like this show could be awesome. The Curse Okay so we haven’t finished this show yet but I do think so far it would make for a very weird little book! It’s entertaining and cringey in the classic way of Nathan Fielder. I wrote my usual bookish resolutions and goals post a few weeks ago but thought I’d highlight five major categories and two specific goals in each. Some may be repetitive from that post but I hope (for the most part) to share a few things I really hope to accomplish this year! General Reading Read 100 books // I had some down years from 2020-2022 and read less than I have in a long time. I finally felt rejuvenated in 2023 and managed to read 115 books (my goal was 80 books). I decided to challenge myself this year to reading 100 books, since I managed to exceed that last year, but also didn’t want to make it too much of a stretch. Focus on Netgalley books and get my ratio up to 75% // I’m currently at 69% and am being incredibly picky about what books I request on there. They really have to be top, highly anticipated reads! I made a couple of graphics for Instagram to highlight my favorites, so I thought I would share them here! I had a great reading year as you would have seen yesterday in my stats wrap-up. Of the 115 books I read, only 11 of them ended up with five stars. The first graphic has my five-star reads of the year. It absolutely pains me that I couldn’t add one more book on this one but I’ll take what I can get. This graphic was a little competition between favorites from each month this year. I knew which book was going to take the crown as my #1 favorite this year. I wanted to share this as well because it shows a few books I gave 4.5 stars and were therefore not on my five-star list above.

I know I may get one more from my dad (EMILY WILDE) but I’m going to write this post before Christmas 😉 I also decided to do both physical and digital bookshelves so I could show some of the egalleys I’ve received lately. Egalleys I’m really excited for these new egalleys! Two of these are longtime favorite authors (Kieran Scott – literally a preteen favorite of mine when she wrote as Kate Brian – and Emma Lord). Lauren Kung Jessen is a promising new favorite. I loved her debut and am even more excited for her sophomore novel. The premise is right up my alley! Purchased Books I did decide to buy the special FOURTH WING edition just for the hell of it because I preordered the IRON FLAME one lol. I bought THE TAKEDOWN and THE GRAHAM EFFECT on the same day at B&N because they were BOGO 50% off. I don’t usually put a lot of books on my Christmas wishlist because we’re an Amazon wishlist kind of family. I try to buy my books from pretty much anywhere other than Amazon. However, I did have a few for people to pick from. I also have ideas of what books to buy/preorder using the gift cards from Christmas. On My Wishlist I added EMILY WILDE to my wishlist for my dad because I loved it and really want to own a copy. I have a review copy for book two but definitely will need that hardcover as well (see below lol). I’m in a booktuber’s Patreon and she buys a book for her patrons at the end of the year so I added a few books to that wishlist for her to pick from to send me.
