ARC Review: Nine Liars

Are you kidding me with that ending?! Okay I know I should get more into other things but my jaw literally dropped. I won’t spoil anything about the actual end (and it wasn’t even a cliffhanger for the mystery but more for the personal/interpersonal stuff). As always, I’m thrilled to see more books added to this series. I’d keep reading and reading. Based on that ending I also have to assume there’s some kind of sequel coming. I’ve seen that some folks get sick of these books and the characters but I just find them compulsively readable. I need that in my life at this point because it takes me so long to read books unless they’re addicting and fun.  The mystery at the center of this one was really interesting. Stevie and crew head to London to visit David and have some “cultural experiences” for school. While there, David’s new friend asks Stevie to help solve this mystery surrounding her aunt and her eight friends. Two of them were murdered one night and she’s never believed that it was a random robbery gone wrong. Naturally, Stevie can’t resist, and spends the whole trip trying to figure out what happened that night with “the Nine.” It was really an intriguing mystery especially because there were so many people involved. There were so many little clues that I absolutely could not put together but knew they all meant something, so it was really fun to try to figure out. David annoyed […]

EOY TBR – 20 Books Left!

EOY TBR to Finish My Challenge As of right this second, I need to finish 20 more books to finish off my Goodreads challenge. Usually that wouldn’t be an issue but I really have not been reading as much as usual lately. Days or weeks pass and I realize I haven’t finished a book! I wrote a post a bit ago predicting the books I would read to finish my challenge and decided to make this end-of-year TBR without checking out that post. I have more than 20 options, including 1-2 books I’m reading right now as I write this. I figured I’d do a quick November/December TBR since it’s almost December and I really have to get going on reading. Contemporary I have a nice mix of new releases, egalleys, and hardcovers here, from various locations and sources! These are all books I was looking forward to getting to this year and hope to have time for. ANON PLS is a new release that is bound to be addicting and exactly what I need. I usually blaze through Helen Hoang and Lauren Layne books too, so here’s hoping there’s some quick reads here! Holiday Romance Naturally this is the biggest section on my list! I always have lofty goals to read a ton of holiday books. I’m currently reading A SEASON FOR SECOND CHANCES and it’s been a nice lead-in to the holiday season: it begins around September and works through Halloween and other holidays before getting to Christmas… […]

Holidays 2022 | To Read & Watch

Holidays 2022 | To Read & Watch

I’m actually more behind than usual on holiday things. I try to start watching movies and listening to music right after Halloween but it’s been a weird year that’s going by way too quickly! I hope to start making some headway this weekend (with movies and music at least) and maybe start my first holiday book next week! Here are my reading and watching plans for this season. Here’s a roundup of ALL of the holiday books I may read, including review copies (both backlist and current year), new releases, and backlist titles that have intrigued me. This year I only have four holiday review copies – I tried to keep the amount lower than usual because my reading life has been shitty. Really excited for all of these though! These are the top holiday books that are intriguing to me this year. I know for sure I’ll get to the new Maggie Knox and Jenny Holiday, but the others – we’ll see! Way more backlist than usual – I even deleted some of the older ones because I just know it ain’t happening. Some of these remain from the past few years just as a reminder. I think I’ll definitely read the 2021 Jenny Bayliss and probably the Codi Hall since I have the second companion book for review this year. I join holiday-themed readathons or challenges each year usually, but I haven’t yet identified any for this year. Not sure if they just haven’t been announced yet or […]

Guide to Holiday Movies Releasing in 2022

Everyone knows that this season begins for me basically on Halloween or the day after. I just want to enjoy my Christmassy stuff for two full months instead of one, and it costs you $0 to mind ya business and let me be happy. I normally refrain from making blog posts until we’re nearing the end of November, but I thought it would be fun to do a holiday movie round-up post BEFORE posting any of my holiday movie reviews, which always come throughout December. This means I’m sharing ALL of the holiday movies on my radar that are releasing this year. I wanted to get this post out early enough for people to make plans, set their DVRs, and order Disney+ in preparation. Without further ado, here are all the movies you could see this year and where to find them! There are too many channels now (thanks for adding yourself in, Great American Family) for me to do any extra work on this so for now I’ll just include the big graphics that the networks themselves provide. You can find a pretty extensive list here that combines the networks chronologically as well. Network/Streaming Services A Christmas Open House (Discovery+ – 11/11): I wasn’t sure what to expect from this streaming service this year, but they appear to have some fun Christmas movies coming! This one involves a romance between a real estate agent and property stager. Designing Christmas (Discovery+ – 11/11): I thought this was a reality show episode […]
