EOY TBR to Finish My Challenge
As of right this second, I need to finish 20 more books to finish off my Goodreads challenge. Usually that wouldn’t be an issue but I really have not been reading as much as usual lately. Days or weeks pass and I realize I haven’t finished a book! I wrote a post a bit ago predicting the books I would read to finish my challenge and decided to make this end-of-year TBR without checking out that post. I have more than 20 options, including 1-2 books I’m reading right now as I write this. I figured I’d do a quick November/December TBR since it’s almost December and I really have to get going on reading.
Contemporary
I have a nice mix of new releases, egalleys, and hardcovers here, from various locations and sources! These are all books I was looking forward to getting to this year and hope to have time for. ANON PLS is a new release that is bound to be addicting and exactly what I need. I usually blaze through Helen Hoang and Lauren Layne books too, so here’s hoping there’s some quick reads here!
Holiday Romance
Naturally this is the biggest section on my list! I always have lofty goals to read a ton of holiday books. I’m currently reading A SEASON FOR SECOND CHANCES and it’s been a nice lead-in to the holiday season: it begins around September and works through Halloween and other holidays before getting to Christmas… aka great for November! Many of these are review copies and there are two novellas (or at least super short books) – WINDOW SHOPPING and THE SANTA SUIT. Can’t wait to read the new Jenny Holiday (one of my favorite authors) and another holiday book by Maggie Knox (loved her debut last year!).
Mystery/Thriller
I’ve been reading a ton of mysteries this year so I’m definitely planning on sneaking in a few more in between all of the holiday romances. FIVE SURVIVE comes out at the end of the month and frankly I’ll probably read it on release day. The others are new or recent releases that I just haven’t gotten to yet… especially THE AGATHAS. It’s been on my TBR for a while now.
Other: Historical and Fantasy
Both of these are late review copies that I just haven’t gotten to. I thought THE REWIND, when I requested it, was one of those time loop stories. I misread the synopsis to think that the main couple traveled back in time to 1999 from present day to remind themselves why they fell in love, or something like that… oh well. It’s just a historical fiction. THE LUMINARIES seems like it’ll be super fun after reading the polls on Twitter but I just haven’t been in a fantasy mood this year.
Oh ive loved season for second chances, and i’m currently reading Shara Wheeler!
Places we’ve been is still sitting on my shelf though, ahah 😅
