top 10 tues watercolorAuthor Duos You’d LOVE To See Write A Book Together

Top Ten Tuesdays are hosted by The Broke and the Bookish, where we make lists of our top ten books (or something else!) based on that week’s prompt. The topics are provided ahead of time and can be found here. Book links bring you to Goodreads or my review.

This week’s topic is ten author duos you would love to see write a book together. Oddly this is not something I had really ever thought of! The first one below is really the only pairing I’ve thought about. As a result of that, I’m cheating a little (yes, I blame lack of ideas). I chose five author duos, meaning a total of ten authors. Here we goooo!

duosMorgan Matson + Emery Lord

I read my first books by both of these authors during the same summer a year ago. I fell for both of them hard and have found a lot of similarities in their style. I usually lump them together in my mind for some reason and I would LOVE to see what the two of them could come up with.

Jenny Han + Sarah Dessen

These two have written some of my absolute all-time favorite books! They usually involve well-rounded themes involving family, love, and friendship. I can’t even imagine what their book would be like (probably so amazing that my heart would explode). I WANT THAT.

Kasie West + Stephanie Perkins

My fluffy favorites! I’ve given 5 stars (or at least 4.5) to everything these two have written. I count them as two of my favorite authors. I think their styles are a bit different, but the combination of contemporary fluffiness and romantic banter would make me so happy.

Kate Brian + Cecily von Ziegesar

I have to admit, this pairing is more for high school Lauren. I loved their long ass series about rich girls and/or boarding school (Private and Gossip Girl). If they got together to write some fun boarding school story that I could guilty-pleasure-read like crazy, I would be SO DOWN. Nostalgia.

duo

Susan Dennard + Sarah J. Maas

I am relatively new to these authors, so I feel like I’m infringing on some fangirl territory by mentioning this. I would not be surprised to see this pairing on every list this week. I finished Truthwitch this week and adored it. I absolutely loved A Court of Thorns and Roses too. (I know, I still need to get to Throne of Glass and Something Strange and Deadly!) Everybody ships these two (their friendship, at least) and I think we would all explode if they wrote a book together. They NEED to get going on that, right?!

Link up your posts! I want to see what everyone else picked.

  1. I am surprised that Susan Dennard and Sarah J. Maas haven’t teamed up yet! I mean they are very good friends hahah! Also Morgan Matson and Emery Lord would make an EPIC team. I can’t even imagine the book, it would be that good, I am sure.

  2. oh my god lauren your picks are SPOT ON. like every single one of these duos i want to see happen now. morgan matson + emery lord? YES. i’ll be expecting some really strong friendships, cute boys and just overall great contemporary. jenny han and sarah dessen’s book would probably make me overload of cuteness and stephanie perkins and kasie west would be INSANE. that would be like the ultimate of the ultimate fluffy novels. and sarah j maas and susan dennard would be so awesome just because i love their friendship! i haven’t even read a susan dennard novel yet but reading the acknowledgements of sarah’s books and seeing susan mentioned every time makes me smile so much.
