Top Ten Tuesdays are hosted by The Broke and the Bookish, where we make lists of our top ten books (or something else!) based on that week’s prompt. The topics are provided ahead of time and can be found here. Book links bring you to Goodreads or my review.

I love bookish quotes but I haven’t been as good at writing them down lately! I have a specific notebook for it, but get so lazy 🙁 I actually posted about my all-time favorite book quotes back in April of this year AND shared a few favorite friendship quotes for the Love-a-Thon, so I’m definitely going to try to make this list without repeats. Here are some great ones from the past few months!

quote we all looked upWe All Looked Up by Tommy Wallach | I love this one because I think it’s just SO true for us as readers! It also seems pretty perfect for this post. I love reading books that open me up to new ideas, but it’s even better when I find one that puts to words all of the things I’ve always felt. It’s like the perfect quote that hits you right at the perfect time. So good.

cress quoteCress by Marissa Meyer | I think this series is so completely wonderful, but it wasn’t really quotable. (Well, except all of Thorne’s excellent humor.) This one definitely stood out for me, because it’s pretty true about all of the characters and their romances. Is it fate, or do we create our own romance?

three day summer quoteThree Day Summer by Sarvenaz Tash | I love this one, and it’s totally accurate. You end up where you’re doing to end up and you just have to make peace with it. If something goes wrong, you have to take it for what it is and run with it. This book also involved the whole “what do you want to do with your life thing” and this quote emphasizes to just take a step in any direction.

jenny hanPS I Still Love You by Jenny Han | Of course she has to make it on here. This quote is so adorable and SO characteristic of Lara Jean. She’s motivated so much by her feelings. The whole book is swoony and cute, reminding me of what it was like to be her age in a new relationship. I think both books in the duology have adorable quotes, but I had to go with this one. It says a lot about her.

everythingEverything, Everything by Nicola Yoon | As usual, more quotes about fate and choice. That’s how I roll. I think this happens so often in life, where you’re wondering exactly what happened that led you to certain moments. Is it a compilation of everything? Probably. There’s no one moment that changes everything, right? IDK MAN QUOTES GOT ME THINKIN.

take leave quoteAll the Bright Places by Jennifer Niven | I didn’t want to be stereotypical and pick one of the more popular quotes, but this one is still fantastic. I always think about what I’d be leaving behind and honestly at this point in my life, there’s not much… I want to do something to make a difference. This one is pretty damn inspiring. (And this book is fucking sad okay?)

you yes youJessica Darling Series by Megan McCafferty | Oh THIS QUOTE. The whole series was hit or miss for me, depending on the book, but this quote murdered me every time. Marcus Flutie is SO goodddd.

So now, I bring you three quotes from Maybe in Another Life by Taylor Jenkins Reid, one of my favorite books that contains some of the very best quotes about fate, life, and choices.

  1. What a lovely post! I think my favorite quote you’ve included is the one from Cress, because it’s one of the moments that I loved best. It’s one of those realizations that is also just totally true and easy to relate to as well. But I love all of the quotes you’ve shared 😉
