I felt like I was doing okay during July but there was a big stretch where I didn’t finish anything. I read another cookbook to help keep me on track and squeezed in one more book on the final day of the month. Unfortunately I had another DNF this month, which meant that I wasted a few days during my vacation reading something and not completing it. June was helped a lot by cookbooks, as is usually the case for at least one month of the year. I went a little crazy during a sale and read 3 out of 4 new ones in June. I also DNFed a book I was excited about, which sucks and took up a lot of reading time before I quit. Luckily I added a new favorite to the list this month in EVERY SUMMER AFTER.      6 books read in June 5 new books  •  0 rereads  •  1 DNF   Pages read: 2080 •   Average rating: 3.42 stars Sources: 4 purchased, 2 review Formats: 3 hardcover, 1 paperback, 1 egalley, 1 mixed Genres: 3 nonfiction, 2 contemporary, 1 mystery/thriller Age Target: 5 adult, 1 young adult Check out my 2022 challenge sign-up post for more details, goals, etc.! I did a great job in May, especially with the final book being squeaked in at 12:30am on June 1st… but that still counts as May 31, since that’s when I started the reading session… right?! I read more this month than any other this year, I think. I’ve started watching booktube again and it’s inspired me to read more. March was a better reading month than February but I’m definitely still behind. I managed to finish four books in two days to finish off the month strong. I was determined to start 2022 on the right foot and I definitely did! I was hoping to squeeze one more book in for January but just didn’t read much during the last week of the month. I’ve been very burnt out lately training a new employee at work and trying to balance all the things, so reading took a backseat. I took a little blog break through October so I didn’t bother recapping the shitty reading month of September. I thought I would include both months here to make it seem like my reading life is normal (it’s not, but maybe it’s getting there?). I managed to finish two books on my honeymoon so that was nice! I also DNFed a book over 50% and therefore included it in my reading numbers. Thank goodness for the new Cravings cookbook too! Either way, maybe I’m getting on track for my 75 reads this year. Christmas/holiday books will save me!      7 books read in September and October 5 new books  •  0 rereads  •  2 DNF Pages read: 2100 •   Average rating: 3 stars Sources: 4 review, 1 purchased, 1 gifted, 1 preordered Formats: 4 egalley, 2 hardcover, 1 paperback Genres: 3 nonfiction, 3 contemporary, 1 mystery/thriller Age Target: 7 adult Check out my 2021 challenge sign-up post for more details, goals, etc.! I read a number of cookbooks this month to get ahead and it sort of worked… but I still ended up reducing my reading challenge from 100 to 75.
