Favorite Book Turned Into A Movie
The Fault in Our Stars by John Green
As someone who read this book long before the hype and the movie, this was bittersweet. I tend to prefer being a book (and music, for that matter) hipster. I like to find my new favorite things and keep them all to myself. John Green is amazing and deserves all of the recognition, but I can’t help but bristle at all the people who are just now reading his books because of the movie and because they’re popular. I read this book the day it was released, all in one sitting. I read Looking for Alaska the year it was published. John Green is my main main.
Despite being jaded for no reason about his success, the movie was actually a very good representation of the book. I was so pleasantly surprised by Shalaine Woodley as Hazel. It was extremely true to the book and I cried through almost the whole movie, even when happy things were happening.
