Bout of Books 16 is Coming Tomorrow!

Bout of BooksI signed up for Bout of Books again! What else is new? I love participating even if my reading doesn’t increase as much as I always think it will. At least it motivates me to finish some things! More details on Bout of Books:

The Bout of Books read-a-thon is organized by Amanda @ On a Book Bender and Kelly @ Reading the Paranormal. It is a week long read-a-thon that begins 12:01am Monday, May 9th and runs through Sunday, May 15th in whatever time zone you are in. Bout of Books is low-pressure. There are challenges, giveaways, and a grand prize, but all of these are completely optional. For all Bout of Books 16 information and updates, be sure to visit the Bout of Books blog. – From the Bout of Books team

Goal and TBR

Original goal: Read only ARCs during Bout of Books!
Newish goal: Read ARCs and required reading books (whoops?)

So I wanted to get a good start for the Clean Sweep ARC Challenge this month by reading only ARCs during Bout of Books… but it looks like that will get derailed. Based on books I just got and books I NEED to read, my TBR will be a little stricter and a little less ARC-oriented. I plan to read between 3 and 6 books this week! This TBR is subject to change because I may read/finish these earlier than I thought.

Let’s see what I’ll be potentially picking from:

For book club:

Scarlett Epstein Hates It Here

For the blog tour

Ask Me How I Got Here

For Book Buddies

Sapphire Blue (Precious Stone Trilogy, #2)

Because they’re ARCs I need to get going on:

Other options →  ARCs from BEA and ALA | eARCs on my Kindle | Other physical ARCs

Summer of Sloane Gena/Finn Girl Against the Universe

Because I’m excited they’re released:

A Court of Mist and Fury (A Court of Thorns and Roses, #2) The Unexpected Everything

Because it’s a library book:

On Location (Secrets of My Hollywood Life, #2)

Five Favorite Second Chance Romance
and/or Childhood-Friend-Turned-Romance Books

Second Chance Summer the one that got away emmy and oliver

Second Chance Summer by Morgan Matson | a girl returns to her childhood vacation home and sees her first love again, while spending time with her entire family for potentially the last time

The One That Got Away by Bethany Chase | an adult novel where a woman encounters a one-night-stand again

Review: Magnolia Review: To All the Boys I’ve Loved Before

Magnolia by Kristi Cook | hate-to-love story where childhood family friends fall for each other during a tornado

To All the Boys I’ve Loved Before by Jenny Han | both books in this duo involve the main character falling for a childhood best friend after her love letters get leaked to their intended recipients

If You Like This, Try This…

I haven’t really done one of these before! I did a TTT where I recommended books if you like certain elements of Second Chance Summer by Morgan Matson, so I encourage you to check that out too 🙂

If you like sassy and/or sarcastic characters, try…

Scarlett Epstein Hates It Here Aspen The Distance Between Us

If you like to cry when you read sometimes, try…

  1. Good luck with your reading. You have some amazing books to choose from!
I’ll be also reading The Unexpected Everything. I am starting it today actually. It wasn’t even on my tbr, but I am sooo in a mood for it that I bought myself an ebook so I can devour it. 🙂

  2. Lauren you have so many books on your shelves that I’ve got LOL…great minds think alike 😉

I’m loving that library book’s cover, may I ask what the title is?

I cannot wait to read A Court of Mist & Fury, I was just getting ready by re-reading the last few chapters in ACOTAR a few days ago.
