Top Ten Tuesdays #384: Seasonal Still Haven’t Read

Books From My (2019) Seasonal TBR Posts I STILL Haven’t Read Top Ten Tuesdays were started by The Broke and the Bookish and are now hosted by That Artsy Reader Girl, where we make lists of our top ten books (or something else!) based on that week’s prompt. The topics are provided ahead of time and can be found here. Book links bring you to Goodreads or my review. It’s funny, I used my freebie last week for something similar. I focused on determining which books I’ve read or haven’t read from my “most anticipated books releasing a very long time from now.” Spoiler: did not read most of them. For fun, I’ll go back to my last normal reading year of 2019 and see which books I read from my seasonal TBRs… if I do this for 2020 or 2021, I’m sure I didn’t read most of them lol. Unread Books from 2019 Seasonal TBR Posts Spring 2019 – 5 read, 5 unread I managed to read 50% of my seasonal TBR for this TTT – not too bad! I’m not surprised at the books I didn’t read though. I somewhat lost interest in a few of these in general… I kind of think the Julie Buxbaum one is the only one pictured here I would still read! Summer 2019 – 4 read, 6 unread   My Summer TBR for this TTT was primarily books that published that year (I think, from what I could see) but I also included summertime goals […]

Top Ten Tuesdays #383: Freebie

Freebie: Highly Anticipated Books Which Have I Read? Top Ten Tuesdays were started by The Broke and the Bookish and are now hosted by That Artsy Reader Girl, where we make lists of our top ten books (or something else!) based on that week’s prompt. The topics are provided ahead of time and can be found here. Book links bring you to Goodreads or my review. I used to do posts about books publishing a far, far way away that I was super excited for. I thought first about doing another post like this to feature books in 2023 and possibly beyond, but thought it would be actually fun to call myself out for not reading some of these books I was so jazzed up about. I made two posts (one in 2019 and one in 2020) highlighting books coming out in the far future, so most of them should have published by now. Let’s see the state of my anticipated reads! The titles below are directly from my previous posts, so the titles and pub years may have changed. Books Unread Mary series by Cynthia Hand, Brodi Ashton, Jodi Meadows (2021-3) I’m lame and haven’t started this one yet. These books (the Janies at least) are ones I don’t love or get addicted to until I’m reading them. They’re usually super funny and engaging! I hope to read MY CONTRARY MARY before MY ATOMIC MARY comes out. Ugh. Doomed by Laura Pohl (2021) This book actually became THE GRIMROSE GIRLS, which explains why […]

Top Ten Tuesdays #382: Summer Covers

Book Covers that Feel Like Summer Top Ten Tuesdays were started by The Broke and the Bookish and are now hosted by That Artsy Reader Girl, where we make lists of our top ten books (or something else!) based on that week’s prompt. The topics are provided ahead of time and can be found here. Book links bring you to Goodreads or my review. I love a cover TTT. I won’t bore you with my usual commentary about how much I love covers but most of these are books on my TBR – the only two I’ve read are the last two books. Here are some fave summery covers!

Top Ten Tuesdays #381: Second Half Releases

Most Anticipated Books Releasing in the Second Half of 2022 Top Ten Tuesdays were started by The Broke and the Bookish and are now hosted by That Artsy Reader Girl, where we make lists of our top ten books (or something else!) based on that week’s prompt. The topics are provided ahead of time and can be found here. Book links bring you to Goodreads or my review. Last week’s post featured a lot of upcoming summer releases and didn’t include any I have review copies of. I tried to make this list a bit different by going for my ten overall “most anticipated” even if I have an egalley. Here are the books releasing between July and December that I’m most excited to read!

Top Ten Tuesdays #380: Summer TBR

Summer 2022 TBR – New Releases Top Ten Tuesdays were started by The Broke and the Bookish and are now hosted by That Artsy Reader Girl, where we make lists of our top ten books (or something else!) based on that week’s prompt. The topics are provided ahead of time and can be found here. Book links bring you to Goodreads or my review. I’ve been getting pickier with choosing my TTT posts just because I’m lazy and no longer feel the need to do every single one if the prompt doesn’t resonate with me. BUT you can always count on me to bring a TBR to the blog when the time comes! As usual, I’ll be featuring books that I DON’T have as review copies and focus on new releases by month (June, July, and August). There are tons of great books coming out in August apparently but I’m blessed to have some review copies for a lot of them, so you won’t see all of my excitement in this post at least! Mid/Late June July August

Top Ten Tuesdays #379: Units of Time

Books with Units of Time in the Title Top Ten Tuesdays were started by The Broke and the Bookish and are now hosted by That Artsy Reader Girl, where we make lists of our top ten books (or something else!) based on that week’s prompt. The topics are provided ahead of time and can be found here. Book links bring you to Goodreads or my review. This lazy ass girl loves when TTT consists of going into Goodreads and keyword searching for titles! Here are some titles with units of time in there – I started with “second” and went bigger from there, up to “month.”

Top Ten Tuesdays #378: Comfort Reads

Top Ten Tuesdays #378: Comfort Reads

Comfort Reads Authors Top Ten Tuesdays were started by The Broke and the Bookish and are now hosted by That Artsy Reader Girl, where we make lists of our top ten books (or something else!) based on that week’s prompt. The topics are provided ahead of time and can be found here. Book links bring you to Goodreads or my review. I don’t really reread books that often so it’s hard to decide on comfort reads for me. There are definitely books that made me feel cozy or comfortable, but I think it’s easier to cover comfort AUTHORS for this one. There are certain authors where I know I’ll enjoy the book and have a good reading experience. Reading their books is like coming home. Here are some books by these authors. Annie Rains / Sarah Dessen / Taylor Jenkins Reid Morgan Matson / Emery Lord Lauren Layne / Christina Lauren Emily Henry / Elle Cosimano / Rachel Lynn Solomon You’d find a lot of these authors on any lists I’ve written about favorite authors or auto-buy authors, but there are some new ones on here too. For example, I don’t think I could count Elle Cosimano as a favorite author because she’s only written two books in one series so far, but I know whenever I pick up a Finlay Donovan book, I’ve loved it and felt immediately like I was coming home… even just after two books! Many of these are easy read authors like Christina Lauren or Lauren Layne – […]

Top Ten Tuesdays #377: Excited to Get But Haven’t Read Yet

Top Ten Tuesdays #377: Excited to Get But Haven’t Read Yet

Books I Was SO Excited to Get and Still Haven’t Read Yet Top Ten Tuesdays were started by The Broke and the Bookish and are now hosted by That Artsy Reader Girl, where we make lists of our top ten books (or something else!) based on that week’s prompt. The topics are provided ahead of time and can be found here. Book links bring you to Goodreads or my review. I kind of think this topic was made for me based on the past two years of my reading life! There are SO many books I was really jazzed up for and they’ve just sat on my Kindle or bookshelf. I feel like I do an okay job of reading my absolute favorite authors’ new releases but anything else just sits there. Even still, I’ve slacked! I broke this into two categories since I don’t really buy new books as much – egalleys I received for review and can’t believe I haven’t read yet, and the books I’ve preordered or purchased that I was pumped for and still need to read. Review Books I’ve adored all of Jenn Bennett’s books but for whatever reason, I didn’t immediately read my review copy of ALWAYS JANE. I think the overall plot didn’t sound as interesting to me and then my friends were saying it was their last favorite of her books. I’m sure I’ll get to it soonish! I would have thought getting a review copy of NOTHING MORE TO TELL would be an instant […]

Top Ten Tuesdays #376: One-Word Reviews

Top Ten Tuesdays #376: One-Word Reviews

One-Word Reviews for the Last 10 Books I Read Top Ten Tuesdays were started by The Broke and the Bookish and are now hosted by That Artsy Reader Girl, where we make lists of our top ten books (or something else!) based on that week’s prompt. The topics are provided ahead of time and can be found here. Book links bring you to Goodreads or my review. I’ve only read 20 books so far this year (currently 4 behind thanks to a vacation with friends aka no time to read!) so my previous 10 books account for half of the books I’ve read so far this year. I like this prompt but it made me think a little bit harder than I expected. I use a lot of the same adjectives to describe books so I had to think out of the box. Also, found it very hard to keep it to one word! Here are the words I’d use to describe each of these books (top row first, left to right): Unexpected // Chemistry // Happy-Making // Perfection // Fun Yummy // Frustrating // Unique // Unenjoyable // Addicting

Top Ten Tuesdays #375: Floral Covers

Recent/Upcoming Books with Flowers on the Cover Top Ten Tuesdays were started by The Broke and the Bookish and are now hosted by That Artsy Reader Girl, where we make lists of our top ten books (or something else!) based on that week’s prompt. The topics are provided ahead of time and can be found here. Book links bring you to Goodreads or my review. I will never turn down the chance to share pretty book covers! This one is fill-in-the-blank where we can share books with certain items on the cover. Here are some of my favorite covers with flowers on them! Most are coming soon or have been recently published.
