My monthly TBR feature here shows my progress based on last month’s TBR, my plans for this month, and anything else I might be thinking about from a reading perspective. Sometimes I feature a little poll at the bottom so you guys can help me figure out a certain title I should read from a group of books.
September TBR
It’s crazy reading my description for August, thinking I’d have a better reading month than July but really it felt a lot worse lol. I think it’s partially because most of my books were in the 3-3.5 star range but also because of the quantity. As always, I hope to read more in September but I can’t guarantee it… I always read less in my birthday month because I end up with a lot more plans and events to work around.
Mood Reading
I’ve been really struggling with not knowing what I’m in the mood to read and never reading things I actually think I want to read because the books are kind of long. I really hope to read a few short books (below) and at least one graphic novel to get ahead on my reading goal and feel less pressure.
Review Copies
I decided to clear out some of the older review copies from my TBR – I definitely still want to read them but clearly won’t be doing it any time soon. I have a few coming up or recently published that I definitely want to read this month. I received a copy of FALLING LIKE LEAVES which seems like a cute YA fall mystery set in Connecticut (!!!). I also have WE MET LIKE THIS and THE OTHER SIDE OF NOW I’ve been wanting to read for a while.
Recently Acquired & Physical Copies
I started THE BLONDE WHO CAME IN FROM THE COLD at the end of August and it should be a nice quick read to start off the month. I preordered THE EXECUTIONERS THREE and it also seems like a perfect book for the beginning of fall (which is all of September, if you ask me). I’ve had WILD DARK SHORE for a few months and it definitely is out of my comfort zone, but I’ve heard nothing but amazing things so far. Looking for a new fave author! On that same note, the movie adaptation of THE THURSDAY MURDER CLUB just came out and I’m getting some FOMO so maybe it’s time to finally read this!
Book Club
I read NOT QUITE DEAD YET last month because of course I wasn’t going to wait on the new Holly Jackson book.
