This Friday R.E.P.O.R.T will consist of what I’ve been reading, eating, planning (instead of playing, I don’t really think it works for me), obsessing over, recommending, and treating. Written on Wednesday 7/8.

R / reading
I was really determined to get caught up on my reading challenge and I managed to do that with the Summer Lovin’ collection. I will admit, this was a pretty bad grouping overall. I’ve read many of Amazon’s short story collections and these were easily some of my least favorites. I read THE SEASON OF SINKING, the sophomore novel from Daphne Woolsoncroft, and really enjoyed it. I also read OUR PERFECT STORM and loved it. I’m trying to work on my Summer TBR and complete some challenges but my reading mojo is still really off. I’m back to being two books behind on my challenge!

E / eating
We just got home from our Fourth of July almost-week in Maine. We had some good food while we were there but it was also incredibly hot, resulting in small appetites for the first few days. One highlight was a local hole in the wall Mexican place – great food and margs! Before Maine, we had a baby sprinkle with some of Chris’s mom’s excellent egg rolls. We had a nice meal al fresco in Colchester on the way to a Sun game a few weeks ago as well.
P / planning
Since the trip to Maine has come to an end, we’re debating when we should go back up. I’d really like to get up there one more time this summer but we have very limited weekends for it. We have a trip to Lake George planned for the end of this month that I’m definitely looking forward to as well. This summer is busy with parties, dinner reservations with friends, and Sun games.
O / obsessing over
The last time I wrote one of these was the very beginning of Love Island. This season has been a frustrating rollercoaster but I’m looking forward to the final few episodes. I’m not ready for it to be over in general though so I think it still counts as something I’m obsessing over. I’m really enjoying the summer season despite the weather being so up and down in New England. We hit the beach where I started my current read, HEATHER, and also made some candles in Kennebunkport. We enjoyed the closed-in deck my parents have so the puppies could roam free and look out at the chipmunks.

R / recommending
I used the TV Time app for years to track my shows and movies, but we recently found out that the app is shutting down. I did some research for an alternative and someone developed Movie Paradise, which has a very easy upload process to transfer your TV Time data over. That was key for me because I really was not in the mood to move things over manually. So far the app is working really well, so I’ll recommend it to anyone who was also affected by the TV Time shutdown. The developer is incredibly responsive to ideas as well.
T / treating
We decided to treat ourselves to courtside tickets to one of the Sun games in August. We have season tickets in the upper deck but really close, so they’re great, but we decided to enjoy a courtside experience! You get free food and non-alcoholic drinks when you sit courtside so we upgraded to try it out.
