Authors I Need New Books From

Posted August 17, 2026 / Book Lists, Features / 0 Comments

This was a Top Ten Tuesday topic a while ago but I got sad about a few authors that passed away, like Huntley Fitzpatrick and Sophie Kinsella, and couldn’t decide if it felt “right” to include that. I was browsing last week around Goodreads and was reminded of a few authors I am really waiting for new book announcements from, so I decided to finally write this post! I would have included Lucy Keating (I’ve been missing her books!) but she just announced her adult debut, and I’m pumped.

Megan Goldin | Read 4 of 5 books | Last book: 2023

Whereeee is the next Megan Goldin book!? I feel like she had a great (and popular!) run of thrillers, and her latest release was a widely read sequel that was featured in BOTM. I’m really hoping she’s been writing and is waiting for a new deal? It hasn’t been THAT long but I’m still eager to at least know if she has a new book coming out at some point…

TJ Newman | Read 3 of 3 books | Last book: 2024

Another one from the not-so-distant past, only two years ago, but Newman had three books come out across three years and they were all bangers. I believe they were widely read too, so I don’t think it’s due to lack of publisher interest. I have wondered though how she’ll keep up with the “airplane thriller” theme she’s used. One book involved a hijacking, another involved a plane falling into the ocean and filling with water, and another had a plane landing in a nuclear power plant. How many other ways can she write an airplane-based thriller?

Jenny Han | Read 6 of 7 books | Last book: 2017

I’m only counting her solo books here (none of the ones with co-authors like Siobhan Vivian or holiday novella collections). I have read her TATBILB and Summer I Turned Pretty trilogies and loved them, but the fact that she hasn’t released a book since 2017 is so wild. I know it’s mostly because she focused on the TV and movie adaptations of her books, but I reallllly hope we get news of a novel soon.

Bethany Chase | Read 3 of 3 books | Last book: 2019

I’m not feeling super optimistic about my girl Bethany Chase but I just loved her three books so much. They were lovely romances with heartwearming moments. I should honestly reread one soon. I hope she writes more books but it also looks like (from social media) she’s been focused on her family lately too.

Marci Lyn Curtis | Read 2 of 2 books | Last book: 2018

Marci and I became internet friends because of how much I loved her first book and then also absolutely loved her second. I should honestly just ask her directly if she’s going to write anything again lol. I wouldn’t be surprised if she had a couple of great ideas and wrote these bangers and then called it a day.

Sarah Ockler | Read 3 of 6 books | Last book: 2015

The least optimistic here – Sarah Ockler hasn’t released anything in over ten years at this point and I know a lot of my friends miss her writing. She was a lovely YA writer and I guess the good news is that I still haven’t read half of her books. I really enjoyed the three I read. I don’t follow her on social media or anything so has she gone completely dark!?
