Top Ten Tuesdays #16: Sequels

Top Ten Sequels I Can’t Wait to Get Top Ten Tuesdays are hosted by The Broke and the Bookish, where we give our top ten books to answer each prompt. The topics are provided ahead of time and can be found here. This is a great one for me. I’m going to include the sequels that haven’t been released yet as well as the second books in series I just haven’t gotten yet. I love series and don’t leave them open-ended that often, unless the next book hasn’t been released yet. I joined the All About YA group on Goodreads, which has a place for you to track your series – it’s been really helpful! Most of my unreleased sequels don’t even have covers yet 🙁 I need a time machine.

Top Ten Tuesdays #15: Spin-Off-Worthy Characters

Top Ten Characters You Wish Would Get Their Own Book This is happening very late in the day for me today! Work has gotten in the way of my blogging 😉 I’m not sorry for using Since You’ve Been Gone twice! It’s for two different reasons, I promise. Goodreads: Since You’ve Been Gone / Aspen / Shadowlands / Catching Jordan / Harry Potter / Gossip Girl / Private / Lola and the Boy Next Door / Scoring Wilder

Top Ten Tuesdays #14: Reread-Worthy

Top Ten Books I Want to Reread I’ve mentioned this before a few times, like in last week’s Five On Friday, that I’ve been tempted to reread books lately. This generally goes against all previous preferences of mine. I started rereading (in audiobook form) the Gallagher Girls series by Ally Carter, because I realized I never read the final two books in the series. There are four series I’ve been thinking of rereading for different reasons, and six standalones. Series Reread Options: Harry Potter series: This is obvious, right? I haven’t read these books since they first came out (between the years of 1999 and 2007) so obviously I am DUE for a reread. I’ve always said this is the one series I could imagine reading again a few times over the course of my life. I’m thinking that I’ll embark on this one sometime in 2015, maybe as an audiobook. A Great and Terrible Beauty (Gemma Doyle series): I always look back on this series with positive memories but can’t remember as many details as I’d like. It would be awesome to revisit the world. I would probably do this one in audiobook form too, considering that the books are HUGE. Modern Faerie Tales series: I honestly don’t remember if I read past the second book in this series, but I remember really enjoying these. I love books about fairies. Secrets of my Hollywood Life: I loved this series back in the day! I read the first maybe three […]

Top Ten Tuesdays #13: Halloween

Top Five Books/Movies To Read Or Watch To Get In The Halloween Spirit AND Top Five Characters Who I Would Totally Want To Be For Halloween I’m cheating and combining the two prompts for today, because they both seem too fun! I don’t read a lot of spooky books or watch scary movies, so five should be a manageable amount. The other five items will be five characters I’d want to be for Halloween! Halloween Movies, Shows, and Books American Horror Story: This has become a staple during October for the past few years. The first three seasons are on Netflix, and the current season is on TV right now. They use the same cast each season but they are different characters in different stories each year. The first season was about a haunted house, the second about an insane asylum, the third about witches, and the fourth about a freak show. Halloweentown movies: These Disney channel movies are the BEST. The first Halloweentown movie is obviously better than the rest, but the second and third are decent too. They changed the main character for the fourth one, which is really stupid, but whatever. You know you need to watch them regardless! Tower of Terror: This was another Disney movie, featuring a young Kirsten Dunst. A girl and her uncle investigate a 60 year old mystery in an old, haunted hotel. It’s definitely more cheesy than I remember, but I still have to watch it every year. Miss Peregrine’s Home for Peculiar […]

Top Ten Tuesdays #12: New Series

Ten New(ish) Series I want to Start There are actually a lot of new series I want to start sometime within the next few months. My list will include some older ones as well as some series that just got started. I’ve always considered myself to be an avid series-reader, but I feel like that’s kind of dropped off in the last few months! Hopefully this post inspires me to get started. Burn For Burn by Jenny Han and Siobhan Vivian Throne of Glass by Sarah J. Maas A Thousand Pieces of You by Claudia Gray Loop by Karen Akins The Secret Diamond Sisters by Michelle Madow Not a Drop to Drink by Mindy McGinnis The Raven Boys by Maggie Stiefvater The Maze Runner by James Dashner Shadow and Bone by Leigh Bardugo Ruby Red by Kierstin Gier

Top Ten Tuesdays #11: Book Places to Visit

Ten Places Books Have Made Me Want to Visit Hogwarts – Yeah, despite all of the crazy awful stuff that happened there, OF COURSE I want to go there and live there! Who doesn’t want to chill with everyone in the Harry Potter books and have magic? Paris – Plenty of books and movies have made me want to visit Paris, but obviously Anna and the French Kiss solidified that for me! San Francisco – Not as much world-building for this one compared to Paris, but Lola and the Boy Next Door highlighted a lot of cool things out there. I think it made me want to go to California in general (more so than ever before)! Road trip – I’ve always wanted to hop in a car with my friends and take a road trip around the US, but Open Road Summer definitely added to that! Granted, they were in a giant tour bus headed to concerts, but it still made me crave a summer-long trip like that. Lake Phoenix – The Poconos have always interested me, but the cute little town described in Second Chance Summer sounds like an awesome place to have a lake house. Boulder, CO – Okay I don’t actually really want to visit Boulder, but I want to go there and visit with everyone from Aspen! I loved the characters so much that I would totally move across the country and hang out with them forever. Hamptons – I’ve always wanted to be rich and […]
