Eight books that were difficult for me to read

  • Books that were the last in a series I didn’t want to end
    • The End (A Series of Unfortunate Events) by Lemony Snicket
    • Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows by JK Rowling
    • Isla and the Happily Ever After by Stephanie Perkins
  • Books that had awful writing coupled with misogyny and sexism
    • Fifty Shades Freed (but really the entire series) by EL James
    • September Girls by Bennett Madison
  • Books with sad subject matter and/or contained a couple of heartbreaking scenes
    • The Kite Runner by Khaled Hosseini
    • The Glass Castle by Jeannette Walls
    • The Diary of a Young Girl by Anne Frank

Two books that will be difficult for me to read once I read them

  • The last Pretty Little Liars book (Vicious by Sara Shepard)
  • Books with bullying always make me upset (Positive by Paige Rawl)

Harry Potter and the deathly hollows was like a roller-coaster of emotions, one my heart nearly survived… and yes! the fifty shades trilogy is one of the worst books I’ve ever read… not just the topic but the writing?! My brain can’t even fathom how those books could have been published…

    • Haha exactly! HP was a major roller coaster.
      I started 50 Shades out of curiosity and didn’t mind the first book THAT much. I read the second and wished I didn’t. Of course at that point I had to read the final one and hated every second of it.
