Admiring book covers and bookmarks, shared by you!

Welcome to INSIDE AND OUT. This feature includes two of my absolute favorite book-related things: bookmarks (inside) and book covers (out)! I’ve invited guest posters to share their favorite book covers and bookmarks here on the second and fourth Mondays of each month. Sign-ups are always open (see bottom of post)! Check out past posts here.

Tell me a little about yourself: I’m Erica, 21, lover of books and anything chocolate…among many other things. I have been blogging for a year and it has been such an amazing experience. I love designing, re-organizing my bookshelves and binge watching Netflix (Grey’s Anatomy, Ghost Whisperer and One Tree Hill are my favorites)!

Talk about your blog (what you blog about/kinds of books, features, etc.):  I co-blog with my best friend whom I have never met (boo), Christy. She is amazing and we blog about our love for books. We love to discuss so whether it’s a review or a random discussion post it’ll be about books! We don’t have features right now, but 2016 will hold some amazing new things.

Favorite genre:  Contemporary Romance, but I’m really loving Fantasy.

Three books you recommend most often and why:

  • The Fault in Our Stars by John Green – this book was gifted to me from my boyfriend and it is was brought me back into the reading world. Not only that, but it made me want to start blogging so it holds something true to me. Also, it’s just a freakin’ heartbreakingly beautiful book!
  • Throne of Glass by Sarah J. Mass – this book has made me absolutely love fantasy. This story is amazing and I could not put it down!
  • The Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins – everyone has probably already read these, but I can’t not put them here because these books make me so happy and I just loooooove them. Pick them up if you haven’t! Now 🙂

Anything else to share? Personal plug for something coming up? We have the Clean Slate Read-A-Thon coming up with a few of our blogging friends. It’s a read-a-thon focusing on the books we didn’t get to in 2015. It’ll be in January so we can start the new year with slimming our TBR!

What book do we have here?  Everything, Everything by Nicola Yoon

Have you read it yet? If so, how was it? I have read this book and boy, was it amazing. I recommend it to anyone and everyone. I just wrote my review on it this past Friday, here, and it’ll tell you what exactly I loved about this book. The one thing I want to leave you with though is the diversity of this book is wonderful and if you’re looking for something to make you smile then this is the book for you!

What makes this cover a favorite? I love the white background with all the beautiful covers just bouncing off it. It is just so pleasing to the eye and makes me want to read the novel.

What kind/style of covers do you usually pine over (script fonts, bright colors, realistic, etc.)?  I love fonts, fonts are my thing. When I see a lovely font on the cover my eyes jet right to it. Different, bright or pastel, colors make me super happy as well.

the bookmark2

What bookmark did you chose?  This is a handmade elephant bookmark that adore so very much. I love elephants so this will forever be my favorite bookmark.

What makes this one special to you? My OTSP Secret Sister got it for me and it’s my favorite gift. It was so very thoughtful. It just makes my reading experience so much better.

Where’s it from? I have no idea, sadly :/

What kind of bookmarks do you prefer (paper, magnetic, quotes, etc.)?  I love magnetic ones, they’re amazing. Not only are the super convenient and cute, but they let me take my favorite characters with me. They get to go from their world to my world to another world (so yay)!

Thanks so much for joining Inside & Out, Erica! Elephants are my favorite animal; I’ll have to investigate to find out where it’s from 😉

Join in the fun!

Sign-ups are temporarily CLOSED. I want to work through the remaining people who have already signed up and then take a bit of a hiatus towards the middle of 2016. Hope you understand! Stay tuned for when sign-ups re-open for later next year.

  1. I read Erica’s review for Everything Everything, and she has me convinced that I need to read that book ASAP!

I love her little elephant bookmark. It’s adorable. I swear that I always get the urge to go shopping for bookmarks every time I see a new Inside and Out post. 🙂
