June TBR

Posted May 31, 2017 / Book Challenges, Book Lists, Features, TBR Lists / 23 Comments

I recently started a monthly TBR feature, where I try to pin down which books I plan to read in the upcoming month. It also helps remind me throughout the month which books I’m supposed to be reading, for various reasons. I add a little poll at the bottom too, so you guys can vote and help me narrow down some of my options as well. Here are my top TBR choices for this month and how I did last month…

May Progress

A Court of Wings and Ruin (A Court of Thorns and Roses, #3) Always and Forever, Lara Jean (To All the Boys I've Loved Before, #3) Changes in Latitudes The Sweet Far Thing (Gemma Doyle, #3) Blood of Wonderland (Queen of Hearts Saga #2) The Hate U Give

May was a pretty good reading month! I had two HUGE books to read between ACOWAR releasing and THE SWEET FAR THING being “due” for my book club. Those two books totaled 1,435 pages. I’m impressed I was able to finish as many books as I did! I’m glad I prioritized some of the May releases I was really looking forward to as well. Definitely a solid job on my May TBR.

On Deck for June

ARCs to Read

Juniper Lemon's Happiness Index The Possible I Believe in a Thing Called Love

Juniper Lemon’s Happiness Index by Julie Israel | The Possible by Tara Altebrando
I Believe In a Thing Called Love by Maurene Goo

I’ve had a couple of these on my TBR before (and I’m very excited to read them) but keep letting them slide into the following month. I hope to bang all three of these ARCs out before their release date (or at least very close to their release date!). Fingers crossed they’re all awesome, obv.

Owned and/or New Releases

Just Dreaming (The Silver Trilogy, #3) Royce Rolls Once and for All

Just Dreaming by Kerstin Gier | Royce Rolls by Margaret Stohl | Once and For All by Sarah Dessen

I have a few leftover new releases I’ve been super excited for, so here we go. Time to bang these ones out before all of my books move into boxes or to my dad’s house. I’ve had ROYCE ROLLS sitting around for a while, hope to finally get to JUST DREAMING to finish the series, and obviously have Dessen’s newest coming out!!

Borrowed ARCs

In Some Other Life Lucky in Love

In Some Other Life by Jessica Brody | Lucky in Love by Kasie West

I only have two borrowed ARCs now – finally – but I definitely didn’t read any last month like I hoped. I definitely want to read both of them ASAP and send them back to Marg or others who need to read them in our psuedo-book club. I’m happy I crossed CHANGES IN LATITUDES off the list.

Summery Reads

Boys of Summer The Season of You & Me Amy & Roger's Epic Detour

Boys of Summer by Jessica Brody | The Season of You & Me by Robin Constantine
Amy & Roger’s Epic Detour by Morgan Matson

I love reading books set at beaches or islands or just have nice summery plots! These have been on my list for a little while. We’ll see which I actually get to, but I like having a few summer options to choose from when the season kicks off. I seriously hoard my beach books for late May through early September. My book club also chose AMY & ROGER, which I’m soooo excited about because I’ve been putting off reading it for no reason whatsoever.

I decided to skip the poll again this month because (a) I have soooo many books on this TBR to hopefully get to and (b) haven’t read the past two books you lovely folks picked for me previously!

  1. I have summer boys on my tbr too and I hope to read them! Excited for I believe in little thing called love and Rolls Royce!

  2. Oh my gosh, I can’t wait to read any of these books! And I love the Gemma Doyle trilogy 😀 I wish I could re-read them all over again, but there’s too many books on my TBR at the moment (who am I kidding, I always have a growing TBR and it isn’t going to stop). Happy reading and have a great summer! 😀

  3. I loved the Gemma Doyle trilogy, and I hope you enjoyed it too! Although I do admit those books could be a bit intimating at times because of their size. I Believe In a Thing Called Love sounds like a summer cute romantic summer read, and I’m not sure how I hadn’t heard of it before! You definitely should read Amy & Roger’s Epic Detour asap because it just screams summer and is such a great read! If you haven’t already you should check out Morgan Matson’s other books too! Good luck with your reading!

  4. So many lovely books in one post! I’m so disgustingly excited for Dessen’s new book. Like, just knowing it’s coming out has been giving me life for months!!! In Some Other Life looks really cute and I really need to go check that one out. I’m really impressed by all the reading you managed to get done this month and I hope that continues on next month. Best of luck to ya!

  5. You have so many good books on your TBR! I meant to read I Believe in a Thing Called Love last month, but I didn’t get to it. I started Once and For All last night! I can’t wait to read more. I LOVE Amy & Roger!! I hope you do too.

  6. Lots of good books! I know you loved Juniper Lemon, I’ll have to check it out. I Believe In A Thing Called Love looks so cute and I really liked Amy & Roger! I’m curious about Once And For All- I’ve never read any Sarah Dessen but I love wedding planner stuff 🙂

  7. I’m really interested to see what you think about Royce Rolls! I love the idea of it but I feel like it’s a story that can be either very cute and well done or rather cheesy. That being said, I’m also a total sucker for celebrity reality TV (Keeping Up, Real Housewives, etc.) so I think I’ll have a soft spot for this one!

  8. […] June was apparently when I read all of my highly anticipated books! Between finally reading JUNIPER LEMON, diving immediately into ONCE AND FOR ALL, and also finally starting LUCKY IN LOVE (at the end of May), it felt nice to read a bunch of solid books in a row. I didn’t do too bad on my TBR. June – toward the end of the month – definitely got a bit crazy, but I managed to keep reading. […]
