January TBR

My monthly TBR feature here shows my progress based on last month’s TBR, my plans for this month, and anything else I might be thinking about from a reading perspective. Sometimes I feature a little poll at the bottom so you guys can help me figure out a certain title I should read from a group of books.

December Progress

It Started With ChristmasChristmas on Mistletoe LaneSnowfall on Lighthouse LaneSeason of WonderSnow in LoveThe Twelve Days of Dash and LilyThe Best Little Christmas Shop

I knew I was going to read mostly Christmas books throughout December, so this is not surprising at all. I basically kept my TBR open with these reads. I didn’t read for book club because we pushed it to January and didn’t finish the ROSE GARDNER series either. (I knew that’d happen!) I ended up DNFing one of the books above, but it was on my TBR and I attempted it!

Up Next in January

First Book of the Year!

Foolish Hearts by Mills

I made FOOLISH HEARTS my first read of 2018 for a few reasons – Emma Mills never disappoints me. Her books are quick, cute, and fluffy, which means I can usually finish them in 1-2 days. Getting my reading year off on the right foot is key for me, so I borrowed a copy of FAMOUS IN A SMALL TOWN from a friend in order to make Mills my first author/read of the year in 2019 too. WOO! [Already finished]

Required Reading: Book Club & Blog Tour

Archenemies by Meyer | Pretty in Punxsutawney by Crompton

We pushed ARCHENEMIES to January because one of my book club pals had some personal things going on (and spent time catching up on some of our other reads!). I have PRETTY coming up mid-January for a blog tour, which I’m so excited about! I love books like “Groundhog Day” and this will fit the bill.

Review Copies

Girls with Sharp Sticks This Lie Will Kill You I Owe You One

Girls with Sharp Sticks by Young | This Lie Will Kill You by Pitcher | I Owe You One by Kinsella

I hope to get ahead on some 2019 books I’m excited about, as well as catch up on some I missed in 2018. I’ve been itching to read a new Sophie Kinsella book so I do think that’ll happen early in the year. I also want to read GIRLS because Suzanne Young is one of my favorite authors; this book seems badass too.

Finishing the Series Binge

Thirty-Four and a Half Predicaments (Rose Gardner Mystery #7) Thirty-Five and a Half Conspiracies (Rose Gardner Mystery, #8) Thirty-Six and a Half Motives (Rose Gardner Mystery, #9)

Rose Gardner Mystery Series #7-9 by Swank

I have three books left! I finished the 6th book (out of 9) in mid-October and decided to pause before finishing up the series. I still have to buy the Kindle copies and they’re unfortunately a bit more expensive. I had these on for the past couple of months but I knew November/December would be hard.

Library Book

Nine Perfect Strangers

Nine Perfect Strangers by Moriarty

I requested this one from the library and it came in way faster than expected! I’m excited to get started because it’s one of those books I was hoping to get to in 2018. I love Liane Moriarty. I haven’t had quite as much success with some of her more recent books but maybe that will change.
