I recently developed a way to track all of my series, which has definitely been helpful and interesting! I kind of audited where I was with a bunch of them and tracked if I do an okay job of finishing them. I’ve had the numbers adjust just a little bit since February. Right now, 50% of my series are completed, 17% have been started (only one book read), 18% are ongoing (I’ve read more than one book in it), and 15% of them are no longer of interest to me. Not too shabby, honestly. It would be great to finish more without starting a bunch but who can resist that siren song? I thought it would be fun to share some series I hope to start, finish, and everything in between before the end of the year.
New to Binge
I’ve had these two series on my radar for a while and it’s finally time to read them! I plan to read all three books in the ONCE UPON A BROKEN HEART trilogy when the third book comes out in October. I own the first two and just want to read all three in a row. THE NATURALS was recently redesigned and rereleased so I made it a point to buy all of them right away. I had been planning to track down older copies and researched it many times before learning of the new covers! I definitely know I’ll want to read all four of these in a row before the end of the year. I’m thinking October and November will be big months for making progress on these series as well as buttoning up some of my reading challenges before holiday romance month hits.
Started This Year, Partway Through
I’ve been wanting to actually, ya know, read the cozy mysteries I keep buying… so I went ahead and started the Seaside Cafe Mystery series and read the first two books. The next up is TIDE AND PUNISHMENT (book three). I’m liking how quick they are and plan to basically read one a month until the series is done. I also, like everyone else, started the The Empyrean series and will be reading IRON FLAME later this year. Not sure how many books there are going to be but I’m assuming the second book isn’t the last. Did not love the first book as much as everyone else but intrigued enough to keep going. I also started the Alex Stern series this year with hopes to read HELL BENT at some point this fall. I know the next book is probably a ways away!
Started Previously, Finishing This Year
I never expected the Bayview crew to end up with three books, but here we are! I’m currently reading ONE OF US IS BACK at the time of writing this post so this trilogy will be officially complete this year. It’s been a fun ride! And, I’m sure everyone is sick of hearing about this, but I am obviously still needing to finish KINGDOM OF ASH. I have this book in all three possible formats so I plan to dedicate my life to finishing it immediately lol.
Started and (Maybe) Finishing?
These three series are “maybe finishing” because I actually don’t know if the books shown above are the final books in the series! I read LEGENDS & LATTES and loved it, then they announced the prequel of BOOKSHOPS & BONEDUST. Definitely preordered immediately. I also read all of the Shady Hollow mysteries this year until they announced a new installment to capitalize on the popularity – TWILGIHT FALLS. And finally, THE BROTHERS HAWTHRONE is the fourth book (kind of a spinoff or companion?) to the Inheritance Games books. This one features two of the brothers as main characters instead of Avery. Like I said, there’s a decent chance all three of these series continue with more books. But as of now, I’m not sure!
