The Sunday Post is hosted by The Caffeinated Book Reviewer, where you share news about your blog on a weekly basis. It can include what you’ve been reading, what you’ve posted, what’s coming up next, and any books you added to your shelves!
I did four of these back in 2015 and clearly fell off. They’re meant to be a weekly link-up but I know I’d never keep up with that at this point in my life! I thought it would be fun to occasionally highlight some things I’ve been up to since I rarely – if ever – share about my life on here anymore? I used to do monthly personal life recaps but they just haven’t happened in years. Without further ado, let’s give this a go again!
It’s hard to know where to even begin since I haven’t talked about my life in ages on here. My last Lauren Lately was in March 2020… a literal lifetime ago for so many reasons. I did some DITL posts and a big life recap post in 2021 as well as a Currently installment in 2023, but that’s it! Without getting into the million little things and very few big things since 2023, let’s just go with the last few weeks or 2025 in general.
(UConn) Basketball
UCONN WOMENS BASKETBALL WON THE NATTY AGAIN! We got so into basketball this season and I became way too invested in Paige Bueckers winning her national championship before graduating. All of the girls on the team – especially the starters and seniors – literally won through the power of friendship lol. They ALL wanted her to win it so bad before leaving UConn and it feels like a prophesy has been fulfilled. I just knew they’d do it. The three main players on the team alone outscored most of their March Madness opponents entire teams. It was Geno’s 40th season, the 30th anniversary of the first win, DT retired, Geno broke the all-time win record for college basketball, Paige’s last year, SNY coverage ended, Paige hit 2k points, the 24th Final Four appearance (and 12th win – meaning they’ve won exactly 50% of the nattys when they make the FF), and so many other things. It just felt meant-to-be and I have cried way too many times over the last week!
Disney
We went to Disney at the end of February into March. We also went last year but honestly we just felt like we missed a bunch of things and wanted to “do it right.” I think we’re going to take a little break from Disney until their new lands/areas start opening up at Animal Kingdom, Magic Kingdom, and Hollywood Studios in the coming years. We also want to hit Universal next time we go since it seems crazy.
New Bookstore
A new indie bookstore opened twenty minutes away and I love it so much! I know preordering books is the most helpful to authors but I’ve really screwed myself because I never have a book on my list to buy in the store when I visit because I preorder so much. There are a few books coming up this year I didn’t preorder that I hope to scoop up from the new bookstore on release days. I’m also attending their Emily Henry release party later this month!
Pink Hair
I’d been wanting rose gold hair for a really long time so I finally did it earlier this year! I’ve had a few touch-ups since then and it’s even more pink compared to rose gold, and I love it! The top is a bit darker and it’s rooty so I think it’s good for winter and spring, but I’ll be transitioning back to blonde for summertime. I think I’ll alternate between both each year – the pink is just a lot to keep up with in terms of dying it and maintaining with color-depositing conditioner.
A Social Book Club
Over a year ago, I started attending Silent Book Clubs locally and had so much fun. Long story short, a group of us got really friendly and started our own spinoff Anti-Silent Book Club, which morphed into A Social Book Club (to better describe what we do). It’s so much fun each month to host at a local brewery.
Mystery/Thriller Book Club
I also joined a local traditional book club for mystery/thriller reading. All of the books we’ve selected have been interesting. The books that were already on my TBR went a little better than the books that other people have picked that I’ve been “forced” (for lack of a better word! I don’t have to participate every single month but I like to) to read.
