October TBR

Posted October 2, 2025 / Book Lists, Features, TBR Lists / 0 Comments

My monthly TBR feature here shows my progress based on last month’s TBR, my plans for this month, and anything else I might be thinking about from a reading perspective. Sometimes I feature a little poll at the bottom so you guys can help me figure out a certain title I should read from a group of books.

October TBR

Yes, okay, way too much going on in September to make any real progress. I’m only one book behind on my Goodreads challenge though so I’m feeling better. I read a few short random books that only took a few days to read, along with two books that took forever to read… averaging out to 11 days per book! Ugh. I really hope that – despite traveling or hosting guests literally every weekend in October – I can get closer to 6-8 books this month.

Review Copies

I did cross off one review copy that was here last month. I have FALLING LIKE LEAVES I’d still like to read from last month. I have a physical copy and review copy of WE MET LIKE THIS that I think will (finally) be read this month. I’d like to get ahead on November – and kick off my cozy fall fantasy reading – with BRIGANDS & BREADKNIVES.

October Releases

Mate (Bride, #2)

I already have a copy of ALCHEMY OF SECRETS that was released a little early in book boxes. Really pumped to get into it! I always love Garber’s writing. The new installment in the Shady Hollow series comes out in October and it’s always a go-to library request and quick, cozy read. And yes, okay, I’m going to read MATE despite the cringe I experienced in the first book…

Recently Acquired & Physical Copies

I preordered THE EXECUTIONERS THREE and it also seems like a perfect book for the beginning of fall (currently reading this!). I’ve had WILD DARK SHORE for a few months and it definitely is out of my comfort zone, but I’ve heard nothing but amazing things so far. Looking for a new fave author! On that same note, the movie adaptation of THE THURSDAY MURDER CLUB just came out and I’m getting some FOMO so maybe it’s time to finally read this (yes, this was the same text as last month…). I just got THE HEARTBREAK HOTEL and have heard it’s a cute fall read too.

Book Club

My mystery book club has selected THE SUN DOWN MOTEL so I grabbed it from the library last month. I’m looking forward to trying it since I know people tend to like her books. It’ll be great for spooky October reading. I should get on that soon so I don’t forget lol.
