YAY! It is time! Pardon my double post for today, but I saw that the sign-up post happened a few days ago and I want to be on top of things. Bout of Books is one of my favorite things that happens for the book community and I can’t believe how many I’ve been able to do so far. More info about Bout of Books for newbies:
The Bout of Books read-a-thon is organized by Amanda @ On a Book Bender and Kelly @ Reading the Paranormal. It is a week long read-a-thon that begins 12:01am Monday, August 17th and runs through Sunday, August 23rd in whatever time zone you are in. Bout of Books is low-pressure. There are challenges, giveaways, and a grand prize, but all of these are completely optional. For all Bout of Books 14 information and updates, be sure to visit the Bout of Books blog. – From the Bout of Books team
I hope to participate in more challenges this time around! AND get more reading done without making it feel like an obligation. I am definitely going to use this challenge to beef up my summer reading. I always say how I save summer-oriented books for the summer months, but I usually get sidetracked with way too many other things instead. I’m going to share my proposed TBR and goals right here in this post, because why not? I’m in the mood to not get any work done today. The focus of this Bout of Books will be:
Get all of the summery reading done!
- Read 5 books from the TBR below (hopefully at least one is a reread)
- Read only from this TBR of summer books I already own
- Must read Nantucket Blue for August’s Book Buddies review with Cristina
- Participate in at least two challenges and/or Twitter chats
Woo! So as I mentioned, my main goal is to pull from only these summery reads. There’s a chance I read a few of them before the read-a-thon actually starts, but that’s okay. Plenty to choose from. I am hoping this will give me a good kick in the pants to read some of my favorite books and relax during the final stretch of summer. I’m also pretty bad about completing the challenges too, so hopefully I’ll take the time to do one or two of them.

I am going to be doing this as well. My goal will be to clear out some of my ARCs. Ha. Good luck!
Bout of Books is a lot of fun!
This is a great TBR Lauren! I hope you enjoy My Life Next Door and Amy and Roger’s! They’re both such great reads. I haven’t read the Summer I Turned Pretty trilogy yet (boo!) but I hope you do enjoy rereading those books. 🙂 Looks like a great TBR Lauren! Good luck. ;)\
