Erica and I introduced our Netflix and Books Challenge for 2017 as a way of making progress on books we want to read and TV shows we want to watch. The TBR lists were chosen by matching books up to various TV shows based on characters, plots, etc. You can learn all about the challenge and join in anytime here! Don’t forget, you can also still participate in our Netflix and Books Tag that we debuted in 2016; it’ll give you some points in this challenge too!
Reading Progress
I’m pretty impressed I already managed to read a book on my TBR! Honestly a lot of books haven’t been published yet and I have to wait for that to happen, but this one was readily available for me. Woo!

TV Watching Progress
Woof, terrible so far. I’ve only seen a few episodes of Bob’s Burgers so far. I plan to watch this one casually throughout the year, but I also have a feeling I’ll get addicted? I really hope to finish off the shows with only one season to watch because those are easier to get to.
From the TBW list:
Community
Season 6
No progress
Sailor Moon
Seasons 2-5
No progress
Fri. Night Lights
Seasons 2-5

Parenthood
Seasons 1-6

Bob’s Burgers
Seasons 1-7

Other shows watched:
Yeah I’ve been good about watching OTHER shows. Go figure. I was able to finish two of them off and get completed up-to-date on another one. Good work, Lauren. Chris and I didn’t watch anything except The Office and then recently got started on Shameless, our newest addiction.
The Office | Finished seasons 8 and 9, so the show is complete (sad)
The OC | Finished season 4, so the show is completed (also sad)
It’s Always Sunny | Finished season 11 to catch up; watching season 12 live now
The 10th Kingdom | Finished the miniseries completely
Shameless | Finished season 1, started season 2
My point totals:
Read Take the Key and Lock Her Up
336 pages = 30 points
Finished 2 seasons of The Office; finished off the show
30 minute show = 10 points per season = 20 points
Finished the series = 50 points
Finished 1 season of The OC; finished off the show
60 minute show = 20 points per season = 20 points

Awesome! Do you have a wrap-up post on your blog? Feel free to link it up above in the Linky!
Hi! I watched a few shows, but like you, none of them were on my original list. They were great nonetheless though. I’ll link up shortly, but first I have a question! I’m wondering, can you count a book you’ve read if you can match it with a tv show you’ve watched, even if it wasn’t on your original TBR/TBW? Eg. Both Blue Bloods + Unscripted Joss Bird share the same setting (NYC), and were Jan picks – does that also work?
So sorry I missed this comment until now, somehow! I actually changed my TBR list a little after realizing this, so I think you can go for it 🙂
