I saw this blog tag on Rebel Mommy Book Blog by Grace and thought it looked fun! I bookmarked it for a rainy day and decided now is finally the time. I’ve been fresh out of ideas and blogging mojo lately, aside from my usual posts, so I wanted to add in a little variety! This isn’t a book-related tag but instead gets at the blogger underneath.
1. What is the meaning of your name?
This is weirdly hard to track down because the website Grace used listed it as a boy’s name, so I wanted to find it elsewhere. Here are a few summaries from different sites:
Lauren may be a given name or surname. The name’s meaning may be “laurel tree,” “sweet of honor,” or “losing against wisdom.” {Source}
Variant or feminine form of LAURENCE (1). Originally a masculine name, it was first popularized as a feminine name by actress Betty Jean Perske (1924-), who used Lauren Bacall as her stage name. {Source}
2. What is your Myers-Briggs personality type?
This is actually not surprising to me at all. I feel like I’m almost 50/50 between being an introvert and an extrovert. I enjoy being around people but really value alone time too. I tend to follow my gut, heart, and feelings more than almost anything else. I’m not sure what to make of the last two, though! {Source and more here}
3. What is your zodiac sign?
I’m a Virgo. I’ve always thought that the sign lines up with me! Being loyal and kind are incredibly important to me, but I can be overly critical and worry about eeeeverything. I actually am not a huge fan of animals (sorry) or healthy food, but I do love books (duh!) and nature. Cleanliness…sometimes haha. I definitely don’t enjoy rudeness either. {Source}
Strengths: Loyal, analytical, kind, hardworking, practical
Weaknesses: Shyness, worry, overly critical of self and others, all work and no play
Virgo likes: Animals, healthy food, books, nature, cleanliness
Virgo dislikes: Rudeness, asking for help, taking center stage
4. What Hogwarts House would you be in?
Even though I’ve taken various versions of this before already, I did it again! I usually get Hufflepuff every single time, so this was not surprising at all. {Source}
5. What are your learning styles?
This is one I hadn’t really thought about much before, so I was intrigued to get my results! It looks like I’m fairly even between most of these, with the exception of aural. I think it often depends on the subject matter or what I’m trying to learn how to do. {Source}
- Visual 10
- Aural 3
- Read/Write 9
- Kinesthetic 6
6. Are you more of a left brain or right brain person?
Chris and I were just talking about this the other day! I said I felt like I was more analytical with some creative aspects. I really didn’t think I would be this close to 50/50 though. I’m totally going to make Chris take this quiz and see if I’m right about him. {Source}
7. What career are you meant to be in?
The questions for this one were so not what I expected! It was a lot of fun to take this quiz. I have to say I’m not surprised that I got writing though. I always thought I would be a writer when I was a kid. {Source}
Writer: You have a skill for language, your imagination is vast and you are artistic and creative. Your brain is just overflowing with ideas, and all you have to do is get a piece of paper and share it with the world. You were born to turn words into magical stories.
8. What Divergent faction do you belong in?
Soooo I never read these books? I don’t know what this really means but I wanted to take the quiz anyways! I got that I belonged in Erudite? I had to look it up to see what it meant. I guess it kind of makes sense based on all of the other results I get from these quizzes haha. {Source}
Erudite is one of the five factions in the world of Divergent, the one and only faction dedicated to knowledge, intelligence, curiosity, and astuteness. It was formed by those who blamed ignorance for the war that had occurred in the past, causing them to split into factions in the first place. {Source}
9. What does your birth order say about you?
Okay so this is always a tough one for me! Do I could step and half-siblings? I have two younger sisters if we’re counting those, but I’m technically an only child from my parents. I spent the first 8-9 years of my life by myself and feel like they’re pretty formative years. But, I don’t THINK of myself as an only child. I decided to go with the “oldest sibling” thing until I read that they include “only children” here too. Win-win! {Source}
The Firstborn
Stereotype: Natural leader, ambitious, responsible.
Why it’s true: The eldest, for a while, has no competition for time (or books or baby banter) with Mom and Dad. “There’s a benefit to all of that undiluted attention. A 2007 study in Norway showed that firstborns had two to three more IQ points than the next child,” says Frank J. Sulloway, Ph.D., the author of Born to Rebel. Firstborns tend to be surrogate parents when other siblings arrive, hence their protective and responsible nature.
When it’s not: Parents can set high expectations for a first (or only) child. “When he feels like he has disappointed his parents or can’t measure up, he may veer off in another direction,” says Kevin Leman, Ph.D., a psychologist and the author of The Birth Order Book.
This is a really cool tag! Whenever I take the Myers-Briggs, I always get either INFP or INTJ so we’re pretty close in letters! Also, my name is Laura and it also means laurel 🙂 I’m always kind of sad that I don’t have a name with a cooler background or even a name that is able to have a nickname but no matter! I’m also a member of Erudite! It’s the best faction 🙂 I’ll have to do this tag sometime!
I’m totally going to do this tag and those quizzes soon. I’m a Hufflepuff and an oldest sibling too. I’m curious to see what Myers-Briggs personality I show up as (I’ve done this one before, but can’t remember the results).
So fun! I enjoyed this tag. 🙂
