It’s that time of the year! Everyone is starting up their 2015 challenges and I am hoping to partake in quite a few. Since this coming year will be my first full year at the blog, I’ll be able to join in some of those year-long challenges that I was jealous of when I started in July. I’m going to kill two birds with one stone here and sign up for both challenges with this post.

Fairy Tale Retelling Challenge
Who’s Hosting & Links
- The Daily Prophecy
- Fairy Tale Retelling Lists and Shelves
- Daily Prophecy’s Goodreads shelf
- Listopia on Goodreads
What’s Happening
- The main goal is to read fairy tale retellings (or retellings in general). You decide what signifies a “fairy tale.” You can read books from any year or audience, as long as they are retellings of some classic tales out there.
- There are different levels you can aspire to with your reading. The first level, called “Prince Charming,” means you’ve read 1-4 books. There are six different levels to aspire to reach. The highest level, “Bluebeard,” means you’ve read over 26 books.
- There are link-ups and potential challenges each month. The challenge runs all year long!
My Goals and Potential Books
- My goal is to meet or exceed the “Big Bad Wolf” level of 10-15 books. I haven’t read any retellings yet, but there are a LOT that have been on my TBR for a long time. Most of them are series, so hopefully that also helps with my series-a-month challenge! The images below show the first book in a series or a standalone. If the first book is there, I plan to reread the whole series.

Re-Read Challenge
Who’s Hosting & Links
What’s Happening
- The goal of this challenge is to reread books in 2015! I’ve been wanting to do something like this for a while. I usually never reread books, but I am really trying to move past that. Audiobooks help a lot! The challenge doesn’t have a lot of rules; it’s just meant to get you going on some rereads.
- Hannah and Kelly answered every excuse about rereading on their sign-up posts. They offered a perfect template for writing reread reviews:
-
WHEN I First Read
-
WHAT I Remember
-
WHY I Wanted to Re-Read
-
HOW I Felt After Re-Reading
-
WOULD I Re-Read Again
-
- The challenge runs all year long. Any books count – no matter genre, length, etc. There will be two giveaways (6 months in and at the very end). Each month, there will be a link-up to share progress and goals.
My Goals and Potential Books
- My goal is to reread all of the books and series I’ve listed below. My primary goal for this challenge is to reread (or listen to the audio) of the Harry Potter series. I’ve been wanting to give this one another read for ages; now I have the perfect excuse! I am currently in the process of rereading the Gallagher Girls series, so I’m not going to include that here. The images below show the first book in a series or a standalone. If the first book is there, I plan to reread the whole series.

Hi, welcome to the challenge! 😀 I highly recommend Cinder, it’s very creative!
Thank you! I’m excited 🙂
Hope you achieve your goals in the Challenges that you joined. I want to join a Challenge someday, but I’m the kinda person who doesn’t want to be limited 😛 Enjoy and read lots ^_^

I am going to do the fairy tale challenge too – I will have to check out the re-read, that is always something I put to the wayside since there are so many new books to read!

I know, me too! The best way to reread, for me, is by using audiobooks. That way I don’t feel like I’m “wasting” actual READING time.
