Top 10 Books on my Spring TBR
Top Ten Tuesdays are hosted by The Broke and the Bookish, where we make lists of our top ten books based on that week’s prompt… and then we stalk other people’s answers to add a million books to our TBR. The topics are provided ahead of time and can be found here.
This week’s topic is simple: what books we plan on reading this spring! I’ve broken mine down into a few categories. I’m hoping to get to all of the library books and the ARCs within the next month or so. I really want to read some of the others on my TBR because they’ve been on it forever. {Links take you to Goodreads!}
The Disenchantments by Nina LaCour | I love the neon colors in this cover and randomly decided to grab it from the library the last time I went. It seems cute!
The Falconer by Elizabeth May | Morgan recommended this one to me when I mentioned how much I love fae books. I had no idea that this was one until she told me! I’m so excited to read this; I basically ran to the library that day and checked it out after her rec. I’m hoping to get to this one next, actually!
Reunion by Hannah Pittard | I haven’t heard the best reviews for this one, but I’m still really drawn to the synopsis. I think after reading the reunion and homecoming story Nowhere But Home by Liza Palmer, this one is already set up to be outshined. We’ll see if I actually get to it. I’ve really wanted more adult books like this one in my life, so it’ll be worth a shot?
Kiss of Deception by Mary Pearson | Lots of positive reviews for this one! It’s been on my radar for a long time so I think it’s finally time to give it a go. I kept seeing it at the library so I just grabbed it last time I was there.
Beastkeeper by Cat Hellison | I am super drawn to the cover for this one. I’ve been really in the mood to broaden my reading horizons like I said earlier, through some adult reads, but I’m also considering some more middle grade too. It seems like a quick, interesting read.
The Pretty App by Katie Sise | I requested this one SO long ago; it’s hard to believe the release date is coming up. It was actually one of the first ARCs I got approved for back at some point last fall. It looks pretty good but I’m not sure if I need to read the first book in the series first? If anyone knows, let me know!
Kissing in America by Margo Rabb | I was so excited to get added to the blog tour for this. It looks so good! I just revisited the synopsis for this book as I started typing this and am even more excited to read it.
Even When You Lie to Me by Jessica Alcott | I borrowed this from Brittany – thank you! – so I want to get it back to her as soon as possible. It doesn’t come out until June, but it looks like a pretty quick and interesting read. Plus, I love that cover!
The Summer of Chasing Mermaids by Sarah Ockler | I was also added to the blog tour and am SO excited to read another Sarah Ockler! I’ve heard fantastic things so far and plan on possibly reading this within the week. I need something a little summery right now. The cover is freaking perfect also.
Forever, Interrupted by Sarah Jenkins Reid | I’ll be honest when I say that I really want to read After I Do a bit more than this one. I downloaded this when it was on sale for Kindle and think it will be a good adult read for when that mood strikes again. I have After I Do on my wishlist so that’s why I haven’t bought it or gotten to it yet!
Girl Before a Mirror by Liza Palmer | After devouring and loving every second of Nowhere But Home, I knew I had to read this one next. Bloggers have been so excited about it and I really can’t wait. This is another on my wishlist so I’ve hesitated to buy it. I don’t want to mess up my OTSP Secret Sister!
Before I Go by Colleen Oakley | I won this in a giveaway and lots of other books have gotten in the way of me reading this ASAP, like I had planned! I saw a lovely review by Hannah (my go-to source for adult book recs!) and keep pushing it up on my TBR list. I really can’t wait to get to it.
Percy Jackson series by Rick Riordan | Yes, I’ve been planning to read this series for a long time. I’ve been in a fantasy mood lately and hope I’m able to binge this series by the end of the month.
Vanishing Girls by Lauren Oliver | I was pretty obsessed with Before I Fall for a looong time and feel pretty ashamed I have yet to read another book by Lauren Oliver. I preordered this one and can’t wait to read it, hopefully soon! The cover is to die for.
Split Second by Kasie West | I’ll be honest – the only reason I’m delaying this one is because it’s the last published Kasie West book I have left to read. I don’t want to run out! I love her writing and she’s been a go-to for me for a while. I do want to finish this duology and see how things end, but I keep prolonging it. I definitely want to read it this spring, though!
I’ll Meet You There by Heather Demetrios | My lovely Secret Sister bought this one for me for my first package. She preordered it and I got some cool swag too, including a letter from the author that can only be read AFTER the book. I’ve been intrigued by that letter for the past month and am so ready for this book to hit me with feels.
Even in Paradise by Chelsey Philpot | How long have I been saying I’m going to read this soon? This has gotten to be one of those books where I’m SO excited and have built it up way too much in my head, that now I’m afraid of being disappointed. It’s just so pretty and interesting and GAH I need to just do it.
The Falconer is a fun read! I’m looking forward to The rest of the series because it ends kind of abruptly. Still a good story though!
I’m so excited for it! I’ve gotta check when the next one comes out…
So many good good books here! Split Second is on my list of books to read, I need to get onto that next month for sure, and The Lightning Thief, just you wait until you get into Rick Riordan more, it’ll be fantastic! I’ve heard great things about The Falconer, and Vanishing Girls so far, so lots of luck with those too Lauren. I’ve got some big series, and mainly new releases coming up this season, so here’s hoping I manage it 🙂
Thank you! I’ve been putting off Percy Jackson for no reason so I hope to binge it soon! Probably once my Harry Potter audiobook is done.. I don’t want to do two fantasy series at once 😛
The Falconer and The Kiss of Deception are two I’m thinking about reading but don’t own or have yet. I made my TTT this week books I already own to see if I can at least get to them. Even When You Lie To Me is one I’d really love to read, as well as Girl Before A Mirror and Forever, Interrupted. I haven’t read After I Do yet by the same author, but it’s meant to be brilliant. I own Percy Jackson and the Lightning Thief, and haven’t read anything by Riordan before, but I’m looking forward to getting into that world. I’ll Meet You There and Before I Go were both excellent reads!
Awesome! I should have focused on books I own, but I definitely need to include the library books to make sure I read them before they’re due haha
Great list! I’ll Meet You There was SO good! I hope you enjoy it. I have some ARCs I HAVE to read soon, like All the Rage. I think that one is one I am most excited about.
I’ve heard nothing but great things about I’ll Meet You There!
Ahhhhh! So many good books!
I have ARCs of Kissing in America and The Summer of Chasing Mermaids, and I am so excited to read both of them. I’m also planning on reading Vanishing Girls soon, but it appears that my package has vanished. Uh oh.
I know I can’t wait for those ones! I keep thinking I’ll read Vanishing Girls next but I just haven’t gotten to it for some reason.
I just borrowed I’ll Meet You There from the library, so I’m hoping it will be as amazing as everyone says it is. Also The Kiss of Deception is really good! I think you will like it a lot 🙂
Looking forward to it!
I really enjoyed Kiss of Deception. If I had an ARC of the next book, it would have definitely been on my list. I’ve heard of The Falconer, and I love the cover. I might add that to my TBR based on the cover alone.
Yeah that cover is pretty cool!
Oh wow, that is a LOT of books! The Falconer has been on my TBR for such a long time but I just haven’t gotten around to it. I’ve heard a lot of awesome things though! Hopefully you enjoy it. 🙂
I’ll Meet You There is on my shelf from the library and I think I’m going to start it next. It seems like EVERYONE loves that book, and I’m intrigued by the romance. I’ve been in a contemporary mood lately so I think it might be just what I need. 😛
I keep going back and forth between contemporary and fantasy, as shown here 😛
Can’t wait to see what you think of Kiss of Deception! I love the Percy Jackson series as well, so make sure you enjoy that one 😀
I plan to!
I have just read and reviewed Even in Paradise. I loved it 🙂 I’ll meet you there is also on my list. I keep seeing before I go popping up – need to look at this. Hope you get to read them all 🙂
I’ve heard great things about Even in Paradise and am really excited to finally read it! I hope I didn’t build it up too much in my head.
Oh my gosh, you must read I’ll Meet You There soon. Extremely soon.
I’m so so so excited for Even When You Lie To Me, originally I wasn’t too into the idea, but now I want it. I need to read Kissing In America too, I have an ARC, so…must get to that soon. I’ve heard amazing things about The Summer of Chasing Mermaids, I can’t wait for it to come out.
I want to read After I Do too and like you, I bought Forever Interrupted when it was on sale, but haven’t gotten to it yet. Vanishing Girls is on my list to be read too. When I get it. And have time.
I’ve started Split Second but due to other books I never finished it. Ooh! Even In Paradise is so great from what I’ve read of it so far. Which was back in December….I haven’t finished it either. Horrible, I know. I know what you mean about building books up too much in your head. 🙂 I do that a lot…
There are just so many books I’m never gonna read them all D:
