BL headerThe Bookmark Lit Bulletin wraps up the last month in reading and what was on the blog, as well as what’s coming up next. You can check out my book haul, books read, posts shared, challenge updates, etc. You can read past bulletins here. If you’re looking for more personal updates, you can check out my Lauren Lately feature; it highlights my life events and non-bookish fun from the previous 30 days.

Fuck yeah, January was exactly what I wanted it to be. I am always super motivated to read in the first month or two of the year to kick it off right. I like getting ahead on my reading challenge up front to allow for more flexibility later in the year. That definitely happened in January – I was usually a book or two or three ahead of my Goodreads challenge for the entire month. I had such good reading mojo and wanted to read (and even listen to audiobooks!) way more than usual.

January: Finish the month “ahead” of my reading challenge ✔️
February: Read at least 5-6 review copies

My plan, as usual, for January is to just be ahead on my Goodreads goal. Having a goal of 120 books per year is so easy to calculate because I know I need 10 books per month, and I can immediately tell if I met my monthly goal or not at the end of it. I finished January with 13 books read or in process, which put me about 3-4 ahead on my Goodreads goal! I love the new reading year and the great reading mojo it brings me.

For February, my goal is to catch up on some review copies of all forms. I have two physical ones I’m planning to read and a handful of egalleys too. Between those, I should definitely hit at least five? I want to get myself ahead of the game while catching up on what I missed in January. Whooooops.

How I Use Google Keep | I think I’ve pushed this off a hundred times by now but it should finally come in February! I just wrote a quick review and recap of how I use Google Keep for organizing most elements of my life.

Sharing Reading Progress on Social Media | I talk about the trends with sharing current reads or finished books on social media, from Twitter threads/moments to Insta stories/highlights. What have I been doing? What am I doing in 2019?

Album Associations | The new Vampire Weekend singles made me feel all the things and I was inspired to write the rare music-related post for the blog! I’ve talked about musical memories (songs tied to parts of my life) and decided to do the same for albums.

Current Makeup Routine | I’ve talked about my beauty favorites but I thought I’d do a run-through with real pictures of what I use each morning for my makeup. I use the same products 90% of the time, with eyeshadow palettes being the only things that change up sometimes, so I’m bringing ya through the current favorites.

On My List | I went through my drafts to see which features I’ve been neglecting and was definitely inspired to do an On My List installment for this month! I’ve been adding a lot of things to my TBR and queues, so it’s time to share.

Requesting Review Copies as Motivation | I noticed a very random, slightly annoying habit of mine that is actually working in my favor?? So I decided to talk about it and see if anyone else is as dumb as me!

Check out my February TBR post! ?
