BL headerThe Bookmark Lit Bulletin wraps up the last month in reading and what was on the blog, as well as what’s coming up next. You can check out my book haul, books read, posts shared, challenge updates, etc. You can read past bulletins here. If you’re looking for more personal updates, you can check out my Lauren Lately feature; it highlights my life events and non-bookish fun from the previous 30 days.

I had more reading mojo this month and that’s definitely thanks in part to audiobooks. Even if I was flipping between the audio and a physical copy, I was able to read more things in less time. I wanted to get my Goodreads goal around the right amount, meaning I should finish the month with 90 books read. I finished off a trilogy and embarked on another series binge, which always helps my reading mojo. Overall, this was a solid month that definitely got me back on track!1

September’s goal: Finish a series ✔️
October’s goal: Read 3-4 “seasonal” books

I was planning on finishing the CRAZY RICH ASIANS series for this, so there we go! Success! I got new copies of the books from the library and also rotated in the audiobook for book three. I’m happy I finished this excellent series and even started another: ROSE GARDNER MYSTERIES.

For October, I hope to read at least three books that I’d call “seasonal” reads. For most people (myself included), this mostly looks like books based around the beginning of the school year, take place in the fall season, and/or involve spooky and sometimes supernatural elements (witches, ghosts, etc.). I also have a tendency of reading fantasy books in the fall as well. I’m more in the mood to cozy up with a long book and be comfy on the couch. I hope to definitely read at least one fantasy book this season, plus a couple of other more fall-related books. I have a witchy book for a blog tour and another anthology about witches to go for!

My Go-To Trader Joe’s Shopping List | In honor of the new TJ’s opening up where I work at the beginning of the month, I’ll be sharing my favorite Trader Joe’s products! I used to shop there weekly when we lived in Maine, so I’m pumped to be reunited with my favorite things again. [This is pushed off from September because I didn’t take pictures of all my stuff the first time I went haha]

Fall Feels | I always post at least one thing with my fall aesthetics, activities, etc. I usually go pumpkin picking at the bare minimum and share some photos of that. We’ll see what the fall post looks like this year – I’m thinking some kind of decoration round-up and my pictures from apple/pumpkin picking. I also hope to get heavily into cider again in October!

Gimme the Books: Mystery/Thriller | I’ve been suuuper into mystery books lately for some reason! I like putting together these upcoming release-oriented posts and did one to focus on contemporary reads in September. You’ll see this mystery version later this week.

Cover Battles | I pulled a new random post, possibly feature if I come up with more ideas, battling covers with VERY similar aesthetics. There were a couple of books in recent years where the covers were incredibly similar to each other, so I decided to battle the covers for (a) how good the cover actually is and (b) which story I liked better.

On My List | Another installment of the most recent things that made it onto my list – to watch, to do, to eat or make, etc. You know the drill.

Check out my October TBR post! ?
