The Bookmark Lit Bulletin wraps up the last month in reading and what was on the blog, as well as what’s coming up next. You can check out my book haul, books read, posts shared, challenge updates, etc. You can read past bulletins here. If you’re looking for more personal updates, you can check out my Lauren Lately feature; it highlights my life events and non-bookish fun from the previous 30 days.
2018 is in the books and here’s my final Bookmark Lit Bulletin to wrap it up! I wanted to give myself a little time to post the other year-end wrap-ups before sharing my December one. I definitely managed to meet my Goodreads goal with a little time to spare, as is my normal goal. I would rather be right on the money than have 1-2 extra reads for some reason. In any case, I read a lot of Christmas stories to push through, enjoyed a few audiobooks, and read some 2019 releases to finish off the month/year.

December’s goals: Meet Goodreads goal, read 5+ Christmas books ✔️
January: Finish the month “ahead” of my reading challenge
I definitely finished my December goals! I ended up reading 6 Christmas books and finished the year strong with 120 books read. I read two 2019 debuts as my last two reads of the year to help get ahead of review copies for next year. I ended up finishing my 120th book on the 30th, which was great because I knew the 31st would be busy and I could just chill for a day and a half.
For January, my goal is to finish the month “ahead” on my Goodreads challenge. You know how the little tracker says if you’re ahead, behind, or on track? I want that to say that I’m X books ahead on my challenge at the end of the month. I think I can do it because January is historically one of my best reading months. I love starting my new challenges and participating in Bout of Books to get ahead on my goals for the year.
January ARC Reviews | I read a few January/February books late last year and it’s time for their reviews! Look out for IN DOG WE TRUST and THE SIMILARS (this one I read in like June, whoops).
My TBR Cart and Bookshelf Tour | I got a TBR cart last year and am loving it for so many reasons. I’ve changed the contents a few times and reorganized it so it’s time to show off the finished iteration. I also plan to highlight my bookshelves now that I’ve moved into my new house.
2018 Anticipated Reads – How’d I Do? | Cristina posted one of these in December and I thought it’d be fun to do the same. Out of some of the books I said I was most looking forward to reading in 2018, how many of them did I read? How much did I love them?
How I Use Google Keep | I wrote this post way back in October but am finally hitting publish. I like to use Keep for my to-do lists and grocery shopping lists, so I thought others may find it beneficial to read.
Potential Rereads for 2019 | I didn’t do a great job with rereading in 2018 but I hope to get to some in 2019! I like rereading before new books in a series and also rereading in a new format (usually by audio). I think I can manage to reread some of these finally.
Check out my January TBR post! ?
Your bookish secret santa got you the cutest Ghibli socks! And I CANNOT wait to read The Princess and the Fangirl!
10 books read in December is really good. I hope you continue to rock out on books read this month. I only read 6 books in December which is pretty low for me so I’m hoping to get back into the swing of reading. Wish me luck!
I have loads that I plan on reading this month and I’m already on book 2 so I’ll knock some books off my TBR pile. Yay!
Happy reading, Lauren and keep up the good work on your beautiful blog!
What a great reading month, so jealous of The Princess and The Fangirl ! I was supposed to read Snow in Love for a book club but never got to it so it’s been added to my TBR stack.
